That crafty CB!  Seems he helped lead a veto of Indigenous Peoples day to replace Columbus Day in Cincy.

http://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/politics/2016/10/05/council-rejects-indigenous-peoples-day/91602724/
.....contrary to commie cities like Denver and Phoenix.
".....Five of council's nine members abstained from a vote on the proclamation....."  Pussies!

short and interesting meeting with FEMA, State of Florida Highway Engineer, Levy County Manager, Inglis and Yankeetown Supers, Fire Chief, and Duke Energy official. my idea of Assessment Team apparently offended the locals with the way they've always done things. was called a POS NYer who ought to go back north, and a few other unkind words. I refused to get into a pissing match and calmly as I could explained my plan. apparently they cater to the 'rich' people first, and let the 'poor' wait. I did have Duke Energy, the FD, and the State on my side, but looks like I will ride a desk inputting updates and answering phones as needed.
So who has last say in this clusterf*ck?
Truth is, that is part of the problem - nobody knows so everybody thinks they are.  They contract some of us out to FEMA and loan us to the State DOT's for hurricanes and I have done plenty of them, it is a giant clusterfuck Brownie!    I refuse to do it anymore after the Rita fiasco.
the local State Residencies and Duke Energy use assessment teams. the Township officials, commissioners, supers, claim autonomy, that they know what's best for their 'peoples'. it will be very interesting tomorrow morning. I just have to remember to keep my mouth shut and smile a lot.
fuckin' hicks.
Dean, Dean, Dean.  One thing those who grew up in the South do not appreciate is yankees and Californians leaving their fk'd up states only to tell their new neighbors things should be done like they did them from whence they came.  The fuckin' hicks just don't like hearing that.
there isn't a single native Floridian on the board in Inglis/Yankeetown!

I am watching hurricane coverage on a local Miami TV Station, keeping an eye out for Dean to come kayaking by for a rescue.
Probably better watch the radar so you can grab him of he comes flying by.
Hopefully he's tethered to the patio foundation.

October 6 is … Come and Take It Day
Yeah, I hear tell there's some folks down there in Texas who thought they'd invented the phrase and got all uptight that it had been "stolen" by gun nuts. Seems they hadn't been eddicated about Thermopylae.

Morning, muchachos.
So the Greeks had a cannon loaned to them by the Persians and refused to give it back?  Got it.

If I were you, and pack up you and whatever ladies you need to keep you company and head out of there, let them fend for themselves.
If I were you I would quit volunteering and limit my activities to banging old women, kayaking and smoking cigars.
We'll have to work up a fairly different list for CarolinaDave...
Already have the list made and no volunteering on it I can tell you that.  Volunteering will get your ass in an infantry battalion carrying ammo with nothing to put it in.
Don't imagine any meetings on your list, either.
Next planned meeting after I retire will be a meeting with my maker.
That's planned?

@Scott: Truly sorry about the results of last night's game. I completely agree with your assessment. I was rooting for 'em but at this point I'm going against my American League and hoping the Cubbies take it all.
No worries, I wanted to see them make the next round but had no delusions of success with all of their injuries. I'm rooting for a Red Sox/Cubs series now
I can NEVER root for the bosox. I'd much rather see Cleveland.
