good morning guys. off the redhead's boat and at the lady's house to bang together walls. figure they can be painted just as easy after assembly. just noticed the bold print on the building permit: FAILURE TO RECORD NOTICE OF COMMENCEMENT MAY RESULT IN YOUR PAYING TWICE FOR IMPROVEMENTS.........
Punch elite and water going here.
Always good to read the directions Dean.  You should especially know after the last project.
just called Permit Department. they say the job does not require Notice of Commencement BUT requires Final Inspection.
::)
If no foundation, plumbing or electrical to inspect before being covered that would make sense but the permit should have designated that.
"Notice of Commencement" isn't the same as those required inspections, or at least doesn't sound like it.  F'kn municipal bldg departments, each one different with their own procedures and requirements.
And the one where I live is likely among the 10 most incompetent and corrupt ones in the entire country.   Made me put a 4' wood fence around my pool equipment which was already 4' inside the 6' fence all the way around the entire yard - because "the code requires you have a fence around the pool equipment: and does not address other fences.  And a little side note we had already planted 5-6' high shrubs all around the damn thing before they came up with that - but "the code requires a wood fence".

Very wealthy guy from the Uvalde area (South Texas) paid an obscene $500,000 for 2 lots across the street from me to build a large house with an airplane hanger (land has airport frontage) and fought with the city for over a year trying to get some house plans approved (saw the plans a beautiful home and probably a $2 million+ setup with the hanger. Refused to pay off the corrupt mayor and city manager so finally put the land up for sale a couple of weeks ago.
Having first hand experience with them I'll say the individuals are OK to deal with but they have built themselves one f'k'd up labyrinthine system which does nothing but discourage job growth and drives business to the suburbs and beyond.
Mayor and City Manager of Lakeway are corrupt beyond most peoples belief

absolutely. had to submit the plans to the town code enforcement office which cost $50, then itemized plans and material list to the county building department. another $50 to submit the plans and $94 once they were approved. total material list was $499. $202 of which is the screen door with pet door. it's a racket I tell you.
TRUMP 2016!
Wonder if he'll charge a permit fee to the Mexicans he's gonna make build his wall.
Of course, and Mexico has to pay.

And so that the wall doesn't make the US any smaller, even if it's only by a foot, it's unacceptable!

Workaference lull.

Morning, muchachos. Rode the new bike in again, after seeing some friends off to the HOG rally in Spokane. Wish I was going with them, but going sailing with my dad and sons this weekend.

Still, was hard to take the exit to work. Bike wanted to keep going.

So I take it this ride is not so much a fixer-upper?

Not remotely. Only fixing up needed is some minor blemishes on the panniers. Otherwise, this bike is set.
