Just heard that Sam Adams Octoberfest and Sierra Nevada Octoberfest (gets great reviews) are showing up on the shelves.
I need to try more of the Octoberfests this year - the SN is on my list.  It's almost time to bust out the Pumkings from last year from the cellar!
You can have the jack o'lanterns but I luv SA Octoberfest and certainly want to try the SN.
Have you had the Warlock too?  I wasn't as big of a fan, but I will get 1 or 2 this year and try them again.  I just can't get enough of Pumking!
Have not had Warlock.  Not much of a flavored beer fan.
Understandable - there are way more bad ones than good ones it makes it tough to sift through it all.
For sure there are a butt load of them and seems to me most are not so good.  And they are expensive to try and not like.
Exactly-I usually like most of the unique ones Southern Tier puts out, but they do have a couple of funky ones.
Creme Brulee can rot your teeth out....Choklat, Choklat Oranj, Mokah are interesting.  Really like 2XMAS but not Old Man Winter.
These are drinks intended for adults?  Sheesh.

The 2XMAS was very good, surprisingly because I didn't anticipate liking it, not a big "spiced" fan with drinks

2XMAS is my all time favorite...I need to try Warlock again.  When I had it last year it was like 80deg out and I was borderline sweating, not the best time to put down a stout.

Here's a partial try list for you (in addition to the two you mentioned):
Brooklyn Oktoberfest
New Glarus Staghorn Oktoberfest
Flying Dog Dogtoberfest
Left Hand Oktoberfest
Victory Festbier
Half Acre Lager Town
Bruery Autumn Maple
Breckenridge Brewery Autumn Ale
Southern Tier Harvest (more of an English Bitter)
DuClaw Mad Bishop

That's not even venturing into the pumpkin offerings.
Damn, I got some drinkin to do!
Afternoon, gents.  Was shopping earlier, saw a bunch of O-fest brews and picked up a six-pack of Yuengling Oktoberfest ... don't think I have had it before ... the Amber Lager bottles is what I keep at home (so I rarely drink it when I go out, always wanting to try other offerings).  It is ice cold and very thirst quenching on this hot humid day. It's very good ... I like a more rich flavor and mouth feel ... so I'll keep trying others ... but no regrets in buying this one.
One year, I made it a point to try as many as possible, imported as well as national and local ... Sam Adams is usually pretty good, Dominion, when it was local was awesome, as well as Rock Bottom (draft) ... the best I've had is the Avery Kaiser Wilhelm Imperial Octoberfest ... the name says it all. Too, good ... not cheap.  Now I'm thinking of trying to dig out my Quesada Oktoberfest cigars.
*** Shaun, I, also have a bottle of Pumking from last year ... waiting for the right moment.

I went into it the same way, with low expectations.  One of the standouts last winter.

My dad and I are brewing a Vanilla Bean Porter this weekend and we are adding in some orange peel and cacao nibs.  Orange is going in during the boil, as I just want a slight aftertaste, but the cacao is going in for the second fermentation along with the vanilla beans.
That is quite a concoction!   I got a little brewing set up for my birthday and plan to get my first batch started when it cools off a little.

Shiner has a Prickly Pear Cactus beer that is not bad but real light.
I always tried to find that Shiner but I never saw it locally - we seemed to get all of the other seasonal releases though.  I am getting into brewing more and more - my dad is about to switch to kegging, so that will be amazing once that happens.
We even have that out here in Yankee land.

This talk had me stop off at the local adult beverage establishment.  They have an entire half isle called the pumpkin patch with pumpkin beers.... sheesh.  Will stick to the Oktoberfest offerings.  Got a first round of six offerings, but have to get rid of the summer stock first.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — An Indiana television station is reporting that Subway pitchman Jared Fogle is expected to plead guilty to child-pornography charges.
