In 2017, a gunman opened fire at a Baptist church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, killing 26 people, including an unborn child. A civilian shot the gunman, who escaped and later died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
In 2024, Donald Trump became the second person to serve two non-consecutive terms as president of the United States -- 45th and 47th -- after defeating Vice President Kamala Harris. The first to do so was Grover Cleveland, the 22nd and 24th president.
