It's not quite coinkydink level, but still an interesting tidbit that Christopher Lloyd's birthday is the day after Back to the Future Day.

I find that interesting. I wonder about the significance of all the dates used. I doubt they were random and arbitrary.

I've wondered the same thing for decades.  I've never found any evidence they had any significance.

Shooting began with Eric Stolz in late November of 1984, but then was restarted in January 1985 with Michael J Fox, so no real connection there.  It's an essential plot point that the movie take place when public school is in session, so it makes sense that the time computer would have dates either in Fall or Spring (nobody would want to deal with the vagaries of winter weather, real or cinematic).  But as for the specific dates, I haven't found any backstory on them.

I have a book written about the making of the movie and don't recall anything specific about the dates. Seems genuinely random, other than the points Page3Raz made.

Speaking of books, Micheal J Fox has a new one out talking about his time playing Alex Keaton by day and Marty Mcfly by night. Should be a good read.

Though, I do like the theory that the date is significant because Biff actually DID go back in time and steal the sports almanac, then return it to Oct 2015, because that's sorta when things started going off the rails in this country. Also, alternate-1985 timeline future Biff looks an awful lot like Drumpf. :D
