Morning, DocIsGoingSpelunkingDave.
True, but you know it's going to be a pretty good day when you walk into a room and the first thing an attractive young woman says to you is drop your pants.

It never ceases to amaze me how people can f**k up a computer, in ways that I can't possibly reconstruct what they did.  I'll ask them what they were doing, and they'll say, "I was trying to open a Word document on the desktop."  And in my head, I'm like, "How could they possibly get from trying to open a file on the desktop to installing a device driver for a device they don't have?"  It boggles the mind.

MacOS does a pretty good job keeping people out of trouble most of the time.  But it can't stop everything, and it's essentially Unix, so when someone does manage to mess it up, it gets megaborked.
I was strictly referring to office computing, not personal. I hate transferring all my stuff from one PC to the other, not just files (which I usually don't store locally anyway). And I get how a Mac is great from a support standpoint at the office because everything is so locked down. But when I'm supporting my own machine, I don't want things to be locked down. I also understand that it's essentially Unix, but from a former Unix SysAdmin, I need to be able to get my hands dirty and get to a command prompt. Even in Windows, I often go out to the command prompt when doing troubleshooting. It's just not as easy to do on a Mac. AND GET OFF MY LAWN!
Sorry, I wasn't disagreeing with you, T.

The myth of Mac stability is exaggerated, and the myth of Windows instability is highly exaggerated.  The former is based upon some silly presumption that a computer should be an idiot-proof utensil, and the latter on the fact that the cosmos keeps evolving bigger idiots.  I've never had a problem with getting any OS stable.  But I took the time more than four decades ago to understand how computers work.

So I suppose you and I don't count.

Well, if you're an exhibitionist I suppose.
