I'm heading to Providence this morning to see my kid. I am bringing her a bunch of stuff from home that she needs for an upcoming project.

Well, at least she gave you some advance notice.  I remember the days of finding out about homework projects at 9pm the night before they're due.

Riddle me this, Batman. If the Warden refuses to eat sugar, but I wake up to find she made apple crisp, does that mean she likes me or is she hoping to kill me?

I'm gonna go with she likes you. There are far better and faster ways to kill you. At this point, she's already in it for the long game. Unless of course, that's arsenic sprinkled on top.

If it is, I guess I'll die happy, because this tastes amazing.

Nah.  Sunday dinner here isn't formal, because we never know if the boys are going to drop by or not.  It's just that sauce is among those foods that doesn't mind sitting on the stove all afternoon in case people drop by.  This is actually a portion of last week's pot, that Carol set aside and froze.  She'll freshen it up, and there y'go.

Since the pandemic, I've been neglectful of my eye care. I'm nearsighted, so it's not all that critical. I don't need the glasses or contacts for work. But I ran out of contact lenses and the last of my glasses started falling apart, so yesterday was time.

I put the choice of frames out for a vote by the clan, and the "3g's" (third generation - my sons, nieces and nephews) led the debate and the voting and these were the consensus choice.

It wasn't what I expected. But they convinced me.

It wasn't what I expected. But they convinced me.

I like them. I think the 3g's did right by you. I went from zero to wearing glasses full-time in the last three years. I can't see a thing anymore without them.
