Morning Bean, guess I will not be mowing my grass this morning.
Yeah, raining again, but when it finally stops that new mower is going to get a workout. Watching grass grow is actually possible around here these days.
As long as you have a cigar and a beverage, it's not so bad.
Indeed. Stopped long enough last night for us to watch the baby owls emerge from their box. Five again this year. Goofy looking sumbitches, and of course clumsy as hell, but 4 of the 5 able to stay in the trees is not bad.
What timing!
A San Antonio-area man pleaded guilty on Thursday to violating the federal Migratory Bird Protection Act by trying to sell a Great Horned Owl to an undercover agent.
Jorge A. Rocha stood before Chief U.S. District Judge Fred Biery. He was the last of four defendants to plead guilty to the same charge, which is rare for San Antonio’s federal court.
The men face up to two years in federal prison and a fine of $2,000. Sentencing is pending.
Rocha, 50, declined comment. He and the other men were caught as part of a sting by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
