It's also the Italian national holiday of Ferragosto. It doesn't mean anything to me but I thought it was worth a post.

If nothing else, it's a cool word.

It means the feast of Augustus, but along the way the Catholic church adopted it to mean something else. Anyhoo, it's a day off for them.

The kids were at the in-laws' house on Sunday and spent most of the day making cookies and brought home a ton, so I've already had one today. Might need to have another in his honor.
