I was texting with my colleague last evening and then she sprung this on me:
I'm hosting an Information Security and Assurance holiday gathering at my cigar lounge on Dec 21 which is in Ridgewood.

I did see that this morning. That looks like quite the establishment. Nice to have an in there.

When I started my last consulting job, I met with her because she was on her way out the door. She was doing knowledge transfer on some data privacy stuff that I was taking over.

We hit it off and stayed in touch. Thank goodness because a year later, she was able to get me the job that I'm starting in two weeks. Who knew that she smoked cigars too and was a member at a nearby lounge? Not me.

Understandable that it wouldn't come up, as you don't see a ton of women cigar smokers. So now she's good for getting you jobs AND getting you into swanky lounges.

Maybe time to tell Charlie he's been replaced.

Nah, he's still my boy. In fact, I'm supposed to meet him tomorrow for lunch. Cigars too.

So that means he'll get there about dinner time?

Tony, I forgot or missed the announcement....is this a regular job or another consultant gig?  Was it someone new or one of those that have been hanging around for a while?

One of those that had been hanging around for a while and it's not consulting. My first full-time job in 7 years. I've been unemployed 20% of the time since my last full-time gig. I can't keep doing that.

No extra pay but my director would tell me I pay you enough. He's 72 and still thinks he's in the Coast Guard
