$3615 for auto repair. Rear wheel bearings, brakes, rotors and emergency brake assembly, and a new third member.
I figure I'm into this vehicle about $18k since I bought it 12 years ago. That includes the $7500 cash purchase price, used, and a few sets of tires. That purchase price included a $3800 insurance settlement from my previous Explorer, which was itself $100 more than I paid for the previous vehicle, which I owned for five years. So...call it $14.2k and some over 12 years. Say it's cost me $100 a month, excluding fuel and insurance.
As painful as a $3615 repair bill is days before Christmas, I'm still solidly money ahead.
