Busted fence lull? I don't believe we've ever had that one.
New all around for me.
How about a new fence?
Courtesy of the kid (dad) of course.
Or, more likely, Geico.
Or maybe not, cause they say the vehicle and driver are both not on the policy he provided to the cop.
He will now be on the policy. That's not your issue.
It will be if the driver isn't insured. Then we have to try to figure out if the vehicle is insured. If it's not, then it gets messy.
If he wasn't on the policy at the time of the accident, they won't cover him. Adding him on afterwards won't do me any good. We'll see what their underwriting department says when they do their research.
Related to my previous post. Does that mean that legally you can only let people drive if they're on your policy?
Hypothetically, if I'm drunk and I hand over the keys to a designated driver, do I have to add him to my policy first?
No, in most circumstances, a person is covered as long as your car is. But she said she had SR-22 insurance, which is something you get when you've been busted for something before, in her case, driving without insurance. So we'll have to see if she had it on the car, or only on herself, assuming she actually had it at all. If she had it on the car, hopefully we're fine, but since I don't know who she's insured through, I can't find out just yet. Would've been nice to have had someone with their own damn insurance plow through my fence, would've made it much easier to deal with.
