Hi guys. Flip did rinse the glass with vermouth first. I ususally drop in a drop, swirl and toss. Bombay Sapphire has to come from the freezer.
Y0u know, all the martini talk today is going to prompt me to buy some vermouth and stray from gin and tonics.  And some jalapeno olives.

I was thinking the same.  In fact, let me go check to see if I have any vermouth... Or tonic.
I have neither.  I do have Tanquerey though.  Trying to figure out a drink.  I may just make some coffee and pour some Crown in it.

Is it bad form to drink a martini on the rocks?  Will James Bond come kick my ass?
I won't judge.  I'll probably wait till tomorrow and call you a pussy in front of a larger audience though.  :)

If not, just get a picture of some vermouth and hold it up by the glass when pouring.

Yikes.  You must have some kind of mixer on hand. No fruit juice even?

James Bond (Ian Fleming) Martini Recipe

Ice
3 ounces gin
1 ounce vodka

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the gin, vodka and Lillet Blanc. Shake well and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with olives.

I had a friend who used to love Beefeater on the rocks. Not long after I met him I offered him Tanqueray, he said that won't do and brought me a bottle of Beefeaters.  We enjoyed many get togethers since then, and he passed away a few months ago at 92. So I buy Beefeaters.

Great story and a good enough reason to drink Beefeaters.   Glad he did not smoke victor Sinclair's with you though.

Understand completely. Beefeaters was my favorite for years before I tried Bombay S. and I still like it and will order it from time to time. Still makes a great martini.
