So I revisited the Tatuaje Tattoo last night, my second since buying a couple whenever they were released.  I thought it showed improvement and wasn't quite as bitter as the first one I'd had, but it's still nothing special.  Mostly cedar and pepper, still a bit rough around the edges.  Maybe they'd be decent after a year or so, but these are definitely smoking like the "budget" cigars they're supposed to be, IMO.  At a B&M, for $5, sure.  You can do a lot better at that price point online, though.  The Illusione Rothchildes is significantly better at the same price.
I saw an interview with PJ he said that blend shines in the torpedo, if I ever try one I'm going to start there

Maybe I'll grab one at the B&M if they're there in April when Shaun's out here.  Or if Dave gets out here first.

Couple beers this weekend... Lost Abbey Serpent's Stout.  11% ABV in a 750ml bottle.  Had a weird metallic taste.  Wouldn't buy again.  Also had a Victory at Sea, which still stands at the top of my list.  It's the best.

Thought we might get to this at some point.

Two I picked up this weekend were the Terrapin Moo Hoo Chocolate Milk Stout and Bell's Special Double Cream Stout.  I haven't tried the Bell's yet, but the Moo Hoo hit the spot. I would say it is very consistent with last years batch. A bit on the sweet side, but still very good.

I gave it some time.  Switched back to whiskey for a few days there, got a lot more nice stuff over the weekend.

Forgot about the Stone Enjoy By 10/31/14 I also had.  Very tasty, more citrusy than previous batches have been.

Speaking of Stone, saw a coffee milk stout, but didn't get it. Have you had this one? I know it's not VaS, but let me know if it's worth trying. It was a 6pk. If it was a bomber, I might have just got it.

This was the oddball of the bunch. I got it to try with the BIL.

http://www.ballastpoint.com/beer/indra-kunindra/

Haven't had that one either but have heard it's a bit strange.  Sounds strange, anyway!

I think Dan has had the Stone Coffee milk stout.  I can try one and tell him my opinion, and then he'll be able to tell you his opinion.

Ah, It's okay. I may just pick it up next time unless I just get more of the MooHoo. I understand what you're saying about the ABV, but some of those high gravity Imperials are way to bitter for my tastes... and those are the STRONG ones. The New Holland Dragon's Milk is about my max, and that's using the lactose sugar. Of course, it does have the booziness since it's bourbon-barrel aged.

I picked up a single, wasn't expecting much and it didn't deliver much, not worth it unless you're really curious. The coffee flavor wasn't there for me. A pretty good 6-pack coffee beer is Troegs Java Head, I'd put it slightly ahead of say the Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout

I will keep an eye out. I've definitely seen the Lagunitas. I'm not necessarily a coffee fan, but it seems to be the common pairing with the chocolates. I find myself liking more of the Milk stouts more than others.

And I can't think of a milk stout that I've particularly liked outside of the Belching Beaver PB.  They're just oddly sweet to me.

Morning, all.
Mornin Joe!  Good news-85% chance I am going to be in San Diego in April for a family vacation...will share more details once we book flights and such, but we will need to get together for a herf!

Sweet!  Keep me posted, I'll make myself available.
Sounds good - already told the wife I was going to meet up with some buddies if we go to SD.

Very good to know, I will lean on you for some of that info (don't worry, I won't squish you like Tony) when we get closer to the trip.  Pretty stoked, I have never been to Cali and my dad hasn't been back around that area much, he was born in 29-Palms.

The lactose sugars help even out the bitterness of the dark malts, imo, fwiw, no offense, gfy.
