Thought for Today: "The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. The true neighbor will risk his position, his prestige and even his life for the welfare of others." - Martin Luther King Jr. (1929-1968).
I wish someone would put this on a banner behind a plane and fly it around DC for a couple of days.
Problem is, now there are a lot of people thinking it's the government's job to make sure people do it, which leads to all kinds of obscenities.
Yep. When Christ said "love thy neighbor" he did not add "or try to have your government do it for you".
......and:
“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye” (Matthew 7:1-5).

filled up the gas tank - again, grabbed the mail at the PO for the lady of the BnB, and stopped for a small wood fired pizza with everything. pretty good. the Pesky Pelican restaurant has liver and onions for the dinner special. lady is waiting for a new charger that's being overnighted UPS. hope it's here by dinner time or she gets take out.
Thanks for the update, StreamOfConsciousnessDean.
I have no problem venturing out alone exploring while the lady sits here and waits. in fact I need to check out a liquor store on the island that I hear has a pretty decent humidor.
Priorities are starting to fall in order.

Thought we were supposed to be focusing more on the redhead and winding down a bit with the lady?

Literally, it may take quite an effort to get a plank into your eye,  let alone get that suckker out.

that's what I said. this was a planned romantic getaway but turned into a running away grieving event. I just came along for the ride. after the service next week I want to part ways and let her 'find herself' as she puts it. I'm too old for games and I don't need the stress, drama, or chaos. there's just too many other women.

I think it speaks volumes about the concentration of some people. Who here could focus on a speck in someone else's eye when they have a plank in their own? Not many, I imagine.

she was safe, since she was married already.  now that she is a widow, she can be more
demanding of commitment, or should just be committed, one or the other.

Yours just looks like a speck to me. Granted, my own plank may be causing me problems with seeing that clearly.

Let me see here...Jesus was a carpenter, and we all now have planks of wood in our eyes.  another sheep/shepherd analogy gone bad?
