Good morning guys. Deadbeat landlord came over to replace my thermostat while I was out all day. I got home around 9:30 last night and walked into a blast furnace.
That's indoors?  Blast furnace, indeed.
yes, inside. it was only 85 outside. he's suppose to try again today.
...and with this kind of result, you trust him to come in changing wires, or pipes or whatever else that can cause immediate and significant problems?  I guess nobody in that neck of the woods every hires a contractor  (and probably don't waste thieir time getting permits either.
It's gotten to the point that I am looking to move again, it's either that or pay a contractor and take it off the rent (if he'll let me) or move. I can't do all the repairs myself.

T-stat replacement is far easier than driveways and gazebos. Just be sure the A/C power is off.  It's low voltage and unlikely you can f'k it up worse than he did.
If it is a heat pump he might have permanently fuct it up.
Does one even need heating in Florida?
About 5-10 days/year probably.

You don't TRY to do electrical work.  You either do it or you don't.
And I DON'T!
I do not fuck with electricity either!

But yet you're letting the deadbeat do it who I guarantee knows far less than you.
I know it is a low voltage line, like a doorbell, but I just know what I don't know.

Looks like The Place is following Sis's lead....Five top cigars of the year for $56.95.  That's a whopping 5% off the MSRP of $60.00.  At least the calculations are about right.
