New Casa de Flip St. Patricks day record: Cooked 26lbs of Corned Beef brisket(two whole 13lb briskets).
in over a case and a half of beer. 12 bottles of Killians Irish Red, 12 bottles of Miller high life, and nine
bottles of Budweiser. 5lbs of carrots, 5 lbs of red potatoes, and 3 heads of cabbage. served with
copious amounts of Irish Soda Bread, and Kerrygold Irish butter. Started out with shrimp cocktail, and four
Irish cheeses(Dubliner, Blarney Castle, Skelling, and Reserve Cheddar) and crackers.
Some Sam Adams Irish red consumed but mostly Budweiser, Red wine (19 Crimes and
a syrah) prosecco, sauvingion blanc, and Tito's vodka with tonic water and with 7up. my friend Bo, who
home cures the briskets, decided he wanted leftovers, so there was at least 10lbs more than we needed,
everyone went home with stuff. tried "the Knot" after dinner, a little too smokey tasting for me.
Sounds like a helluva feast.
tasted like one too, this year we added the 2lbs of shrimp, and only bought the Irish soda bread that
everyone liked. one set of friends buys the brisket and corns it, and won't let us pay.
Normally we make a single 18lb brisket, but this year he got two slightly smaller ones instead. had about 3/4
of a brisket (about 10 lbs), left over this year. yes, they consume a lot of brisket at the table. had 5 different
brown mustards on the table. guldens Siracha mustard was least favorite(if you rule out the plain
yellow mustard, that I won't buy). JD, mr. Mustard hot, Mr. Mustard hot & sweet, Goldman's horseradish mustard
