Ouch. As a former saxophone player, I know how costly those can be. When my oldest had a brief spell of wanting to play one, we just rented.

Max has been playing for 7 years now. We tried the rental for a while, then he inherited two pieces of shit that I just sold for a total of $100. He's proven his dedication and it was time to get him a proper instrument.
