Biker's Dog
-------------------------

A highly timid little man, ventured into a biker bar in the Bronx and clearing his throat asked, "Um, err, which of you gentlemen owns the Doberman tied outside to the parking meter?"

A giant of a man, wearing biker leathers, his body hair growing out through the seams, turned slowly on his stool, looked down at the quivering little man and said, "It's my dog. Why?"

"Well," squeaked the little man, obviously very nervous, "I believe my dog just killed it, sir."

"What?" roared the big man in disbelief. "What in the hell kind of dog do you have?"

"Sir," answered the little man, "it's a little four week old female puppy."

"Bull!" roared the biker, "how could your puppy kill my Doberman?"

"It appears that your dog choked on her, sir."

Elevators are supposed to be repaired so back to work for me I guess.
Better bring your walking shoes, just in case. Morning, Dave.
Just turn around and go home if not working, walking down is not such a challenge if we get stuck upstairs.  But I have some walking shoes in my desk at all times since I take a morning walk everyday.
right, wouldn't want to take a walk in the pumps, or the stiletto heels!

Surprise, surprise, almost 10:30 and The Page has none of their offerings sold out yet.
Must have been MetamucilDave's scolding yesterday that straightened them out.
That and $60.00 5-packs.  Yeah, I know, Padron.  Still, 5 cigars for $75 will slow down a few.

Alright, 200 emails down to 16 in 5 minutes.
I thought you worked from home!?
He got his elevator fixed.
I thought you read all posts!   I could not get into my work computer because while I was on vacation they emailed me a message my password was expiring and it expired before I came back.  Then I could not reset my password remotely so called the "help desk" and they said it could not be reset unless I was on my official computer connected directly to the system......thus no work that involved a computer while teleworking.
So you pushed a lot of pencils for 2 days then, huh?

Even Concrete Dean is going to be cold it looks like!

Polar vortex 2016 will be ushering in frigid temps and snow to the central and eastern United States, dropping the mercury as much as 20 to 30 degrees below average in some parts of the country by next week.

The cold snap will "deliver a cold shock following record warmth during December," said Alex Sosnowski of AccuWeather. "The cold will also affect a large swath of the nation. While the core of the cold air with the arctic outbreak early this week focused on the Northeast, the outbreak next week will first plunge across the Rockies and Plains, before turning eastward."

Happy Three Kings Day!
Same to you, Tony.  It's hard to hold back a joke, but I'll go with Caspar, Melchior and Balthazzar 2016.  There's a custom to write in chalk over the lintel of your front door:
20+C+M+B+16
that explains the stuff that was over the front door, in the house we bought 21 years ago....
now that makes sense..... Good morning boys! 8)
Good morning Flip.  Had a friend of the family that was a Priest and he inscribed that on my parents door lintel every year around Christmas.

More than half of the total came from sales of light beer.  Top selling beer Miller Lite brought in $494,000.

So, what was your take on that $2 BV ott?
I've put a box in my cart at the page price  ($22.50  only vitola left).  I'm impressed.  started off a bit bland and i was thinking "ok, box time may bring some flavor" as there was a hint of something light coming through.  I tend to pick light and dark flavors instead of coffee, chocolate, bread, etc.  and this one (i bought the Petite Pyramid) started picking up some nice light flavor after about 3/4".  grew in intensity and got into some heavier flavor mid way and By the end I was thinking these WILL taste good after we few weeks.  burnt my fingers nubbing it.  slightly tight draw but not restrictively so.  i tend to draw a bit heavy when I drive, so this one lasted me 50 min or so.

They show all sold out now and most likely the Page stole yours right out of your cart.
No actually it seems mine was the last one.  i went back before I posted the "review" and checked to see if there was any other sizes available, didn't so went ahead and hit them.  showed up as sold out right after.
Was coming back to update that Famous has the coronas (largas or something like that I think they call them) for $18.99 but need a Mash item to add for shipping, also Catsrule does not work for the BV's unless you have an eligible item with them.

There are 2 vitolas of Buena Vista Reservas on sale at Famous Clearance, slightly lower price
true, pretty much the price CP had them on sale for.  no free frt at Famous though unless you buy a bunch.  did read the 1 review and while i didn't think it was THAT hard to draw, so i do disagree with that part of the review, and i would give the taste an 85 perhaps.  the burn was right on so i'd bump that to a 90.

Would be nice to see some in a Toro or Torpedo.  Even a full size Bellicoso instead of the Pettite size.  would have liked about another 20 minutes or so.

Respectfully disagree on that one, Torpedo's are usually among the worst vitolas IMHO, Toros are usually good and I smoke some regularly but with the CyB's the toros are terrible smokes for some reason.

No,  but I really need a FS code as shipping would raise the price by almost 50%!  Would damn sure take a 17% discount though, us old retired (and soon to be retiring) farts are extraelcheapo!

Yeah, strange thing with the CyB's.  I bought a 5'r of toros on a special a good while back and they are like smoking an entirely different brand of cigar.

The V's are good cigars, my issue is that I don't think they're as good as advertised and have frequent construction issues. I find Olivas (except Melanios) to be very linear and unchanging/uninteresting

I just don't much like the shape of torps or belicosos regardless of which cigar it is.

I always thought the construction on the V was pretty good... excellent maybe. Don't think I've had a bad one in that department. Actually had a few #4's over the past couple weeks.

Was coming back to update that Famous has the coronas (largas or something like that I think they call them) for $18.99 but need a Mash item to add for shipping, also Catsrule does not work for the BV's unless you have an eligible item with them.
Do you really need a coupon code @ $18.99?  ;D
Yes.  Silly question.  :P

Hey BS!

Totally agree with the exception of the LAT Edicion Racine Torp, I like toros though but CyB's suck in larger RGs for some reason

I think the Surrogates Skull Breaker is another solid torp... and the V, which I know you don't care for in any option.
The V's are good cigars, my issue is that I don't think they're as good as advertised and have frequent construction issues. I find Olivas (except Melanios) to be very linear and unchanging/uninteresting

I always thought the construction on the V was pretty good... excellent maybe. Don't think I've had a bad one in that department. Actually had a few #4's over the past couple weeks.
I think you just jumped the shark.

Which is why we stocked up on corona's.
Amen but YOU got a better deal on that than I did!   I had 2 of them in my cart for a while waiting on something to get FS with and picked something up on a jam last week then hit the purchase button the day before Ogie put the code out for 20% off.  Fuct myself on that one!

I had several tight draw issues and they just weren't THAT good that I needed to keep pursuing them

+1 and I have smoked a lot of them.  But they changed them some about 2 years ago or so and the newer ones are still good smokes but not as good as the old ones.  Never any issue with construction on either of them though, quite nicely made cigars IMHO.

I just don't much like the shape of torps or belicosos regardless of which cigar it is.
Same here...unless it's a Partagas Serie P #2.

Torps don't bother me too much, but my favorite size is the toro normally.   Although I agree with the CyB.  i almost didn't buy the corona because i'd had the toro 1st and was wondering what the hype was about.

Morning, Sam
Hey BS!

Totally agree with the exception of the LAT Edicion Racine Torp, I like toros though but CyB's suck in larger RGs for some reason

I think the Surrogates Skull Breaker is another solid torp... and the V, which I know you don't care for in any option.

I have mostly smoked the robusto size and some coronas which are both very good but if I had smoked a Toro first probably would have never bought another CyB.

I always thought the construction on the V was pretty good... excellent maybe. Don't think I've had a bad one in that department. Actually had a few #4's over the past couple weeks.
+1 and I have smoked a lot of them.  But they changed them some about 2 years ago or so and the newer ones are still good smokes but not as good as the old ones.  Never any issue with construction on either of them though, quite nicely made cigars IMHO.
I had tight draw issues, nothing else
You talking about Nate again?

That is the case for all but a few boutique brands I pick up once in a while at a regular price.  I stay well stocked (to say the least) and able to hold out for a long time for a deal on all my regular smokes.

Agreed. Think I gave $99 at CI for the last torp box deal, and @ $76 for the box of 4's... between $3-4 ea.

+1  pretty much the same here.  most I've paid in the past few years was when I splurged on the 5er of Amazon Basins.  A good smoke, but after the fact, not the one I'd choose to splurge on again.  I think I have 1 left with 2 years on it.  Can't remember if I bought it last year or 2 years ago.  I really should start writing this shit down....used to remember it.  70's again.

Best deal I think I had on V's was when the Monster had Lancero's on sale.  seems we paid under $3 with the codes and such.  but yeah, $3-4 is definitely good!

That was a deal and I loaded up on them, as they are also my favorite vitola.  I probably still got 8-10 of those and wish I had bought more.  I think they were close to $3.

I didn't bother to show up for my undergrad. Not really into all the pomp and circumstance.

New Boss must be outlining his Expectations for Travellin Dave!  I Doubt they include fuk'n off on the banter and smoking cigars either.
Probably some pinko commie!
Speaking of which what you been doing all day CG?
Grinding in SQL and Excel - reporting package that I've been given ownership is due in the next few days, so lots of minute changes and that sort of bullshit
You finished with that Skool-Shit?
Yes sir, defended my thesis the second week in Dec and passed with flying colors!
Congrats!

I was 50/50, knowing I would eventually go back...only reason I did was knowing I wouldn't be walking at the same school when I get my MS.

Congratulations CG.  What is the title of your thesis?
Thanks CB! "Economic Education for Entrepreneurs: Creating Business Success Through Subject Mastery"
You be mastering that subject!  You be a master of bidniss administration now?
Massa of Scienze in Bidness, technically :)
Yessah Massah!

Dow: -252.15
NASDAQ:  - 55.66
S&P 500: -26.45
guns and ammo are up
Deans Penis is probably up

BOOM!

Thanks Tony - it was nice to get that out of the way.  Only lame part is I don't "walk" until April as the Master's graduates are only 1x/year.
I didn't bother to show up for my undergrad. Not really into all the pomp and circumstance.
I did not show up for any of them, total b.s.

Evening CB.
Evening TD.  What's this about a new bossman?
WhatyoutalkinaboutCB?
Oh that....stupid ass department likes their reorgs...
Guy is pretty alright...a hands off but dynamic guy.  Downside is I don't have responsibility for Austin anymore.
You mean I'm stuck listening to TxDave rant about this and that at Austin herfs by myself?  Fuk that!
;D

But just think I will hopefully be gone in about 9 months so then wtf you gonna do?
Well, come to think of it, I've never been to South Carolina.  Prepare a Dean-sized pop-up for me.  I'll give you a week to get settled in first.
Hahaha. Maybe we should make next year's CF herf in South Carolina?
Would certainly be warmer weather. And there's at least one other Dave who would like that location.  Is LTG allowed south of the Mason Dixon line?
No
