Ten years ago: Eight-term Congressman Randy "Duke" Cunningham pleaded guilty to graft and tearfully resigned; the California Republican had admitted taking $2.4 million in bribes mostly from defense contractors in exchange for government business and other favors. (Cunningham was later sentenced to eight years, four months in prison; his term was cut by more than a year for good behavior.) A corruption scandal brought down the minority government of Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin, the same day a 10-day U.N. Climate Control Conference opened in Montreal.

Wife or Mistress
-------------------------

An architect, an artist and an engineer were discussing whether it was better to spend time with the wife or a mistress. The architect said he enjoyed time with his wife, building a solid foundation for an enduring relationship. The artist said he enjoyed time with his mistress, because of the passion and mystery he found there. The engineer said, "I like both."

"Both?" they asked.

Engineer: "Yeah. If you have a wife and a mistress, they will each assume you are spending time with the other woman, and you can go to the lab and get some work done."

Best I can figure they are just randomly rotating items in and out.  Also, the prices are sometimes different (higher) than they were on their previous offers.

Looks like a fantastic setup.  If I didn't know any better, I'd say that was NJDave smoking a cigar next to that white whale pickup truck.
LOL I had not noticed that but does resemble him.   Boy has the Tito's Bloody Mary Bar all set up.
Oh trust me, I noticed the booze first.  :)

Better you than me, I got a break this year we are traveling to SC for 2 weeks at Christmas so I don't have to do any decorating.  It was fun with a child at home and I still luv the Christmas season but decorating is not fun anymore.

I always enjoyed looking at them, but not before Thanksgiving.  And even with kids in the house I hate putting those darned things up.  My neighbor has a service put the lights up for him.  He's been shining Christmas lights since the day after Halloween.  Sheesh on him.

In 1861, the Confederate Congress admitted Missouri as the 12th state of the Confederacy after Missouri's disputed secession from the Union.
Interesting....  Because I think Jefferson Barracks (Missouri) was a Union Post.  Located just south (15 - 20 miles) from St. Louis.

Good Saturday Morning Chip & Dean
good morning Dave.
You have a good day yesterday?
note to self: NEVER go away on a major holiday. people are fucking crazy!
yes, it was a good week all things considered. will be going back next month for a weekend getaway to enjoy the beach. stopped for a few hours and it was lovely.
Unfortunately people are fucking crazy 24/7/365 now just more of them around on Holidays.
I hate cities and Interstate driving. maniacs on 95 on the way home. driving 75 mph and getting blown by everyone until I got on SR 40. rural roads I prefer.
I love the back roads.  We go to Southern IL, and I still used the old roads my father used to drive.  It's about a 2 hour drive.  Stopping at small town Dairy Queens, maybe a local bar, state parks, and we try to hit a country meat market on the way home.  All of the roads are 2 lane, so it's a bummer getting caught behind a tractor, or some one riding your ass for 5 miles because they won't or can't pass ya...

Weather hell here, 38 degrees and rain all night but atleast we are below the freeze line.
Sun coming up and 50 degrees here.  Morning guys.
65° here this morning, looks like Native might win the coldest temp for the morning, strange thing being he is in Texas.
It was 73 here at this time yesterday
What a roller coaster ride from Mother Nature for you guys, I have a feeling there will be a bunch of new sick people around you in a couple of days.
My wife and I ran out to the hardware store the other night and it was cold enough to wear medium jackets.  At the store a guy was with his 2 little girls (2nd to 4th grade), and the girls were wearing t-shirts, shorts, and flip flops.  My wife said, "those kids are going to be sick.."  Once, even my doctor was complaining to me about what people were wearing.  "They are all going to be sick..!  I have a hospital full of pneumonia patients...!!!"

Good morning Tony....  I just can't understand tailgaters...?  Pass me or back up to a safe distance.  What's bad thou, now that I'm retired and am no longer in a hurry, I don't look in my rear view mirror.  I don't do it on purpose, but I'm turning into one of those people that just drive slow and everyone hates.  But I have been known to spot some one on my bumper, and I'll drive the 15 mph speed limit.  Now ya know that's got to drive them nuts...

I was coming home from St. Louis late one night on Interstate 64, a 3 lane highway.  I was tired and I was going about 55 mph and staying in the right lane.  This tractor trailer come up on my bumper and we are the only people on the highway.  So I'm thinking, "this guy is going to pass me."  But he doesn't.  He just keeps getting closer and closer.  All I can see in my mirror is his grill.  He does this for about 7 miles.  Suddenly he slams on his breaks.  He had passed up his turn off.  He was more concerned in harassing me, than to watch for his route.  Oh well.

John Manda was a ok guy most of the time but I still remember him coming in to the store (when I worked for Winn Dixie) at 1:55pm and we closed at 2:00 and then taking his dear old sweet time to check out so we could all go home.

I prefer Richard's sausage, a little bit more home made sausage taste but USDA has so many smoking regulations on the guys that it's hard to find a really good commercial smoke sausage.

I heard a couple of years ago the EPA shut down their smoking process.  Thus why it is not as good as it used to be .

Haha our posts crossed.  I have had Richards and good.  My favorite was always one made up my way in Stonewall, LA (can't  think of the name now) but bought some last time I was home and it was not so good, mostly just ground fat.

Edit:  Down Home Sausage is the name

John Manda told me back in 1985 that their smoking process had to be filtered so many times you would think they were trying to protect the meat from cigarette smoke. There is a guy close to us that still makes and smokes his sausage the good old fashioned way but limits families to 50lbs a year since there is such a demand out here for it.  My mother is on his list so she usually shares 20lbs with us and we ration it through the year for special occasions.

The guy out here uses whole pork loins so very little fat cooking off the meat.

Lot of sausage made around here and some is pretty good but they just don't season it right.

Evening, muchachos. Checking in. Just got back from one of my favorite Mexican restaurants, where I stuffed myself with bistek, chorizo, goat cheese, fresh tortillas, and Bohemia while listening to a great mariachi band. Plenty of leftovers for breakfast in the morning.
