One year ago: President Barack Obama, in an interview taped for NBC's "Meet the Press," said the surge of immigrant children entering the U.S. illegally had changed the politics surrounding the issue of immigration and led him to put off a pledge to use executive action that could have shielded millions of people from deportation. Witnesses in the Ukraine port city of Mariupol reported sustained explosions outside the city and a volunteer battalion of fighters said Grad rockets were fired at their positions little more than a day after a cease-fire between the government and Kremlin-backed separatists went into effect.

Worms
-------------------------

A professor of chemistry wanted to teach his
5th grade class a lesson about the evils of liquor,
so he produced an experiment that involved a
glass of water, a glass of whiskey, and two worms.

"Now, class, closely observe the worms," said
the professor while putting a worm into the water.

The worm in the water writhed about, happy
as a worm in water could be. He then put the
second worm into the whiskey. It curled up and
writhed about painfully, then quickly sank to
the bottom, dead as a doornail.

"Now, what lesson can we learn from this experiment?"
the professor asked.

Johnny, who naturally sits in back, raised
his hand and wisely, responded confidently, "Drink
whiskey and you won't get worms."

Short Story fired up.

It should just be right about done by now.  ;)
Definitely by now.  Hope you enjoyed it.

I'm heading out to a friend's for a barbecue so I'll see y'all later.  The plan is to tire out the wife and kids so that I can enjoy some peace, quiet and a cigar when we return.
Been done with cigar and just made a haul to Goodwill while I had the boy to help me load some heavy stuff.  Now time to go to Opies for some BBQ. Hope you enjoy your BBQ Tony

Stone Thunderstruck IPA bomber going with an El Triunfador Original Lancero, weather is perfect in NJ this weekend
I looked at one of those El Triunfador's yesterday wondering if they were ready for smoking yet.  Give me a report on it
Dave, this one is exactly why I bought a box. Draw is great,a bit of resistance which I like and the flavors are awesome
Glad to hear that!

Good morning Sly.
Morning (now afternoon), Chip.  Had to get ready and go to noon Mass. Now hoping to continue packing and moving, maybe later have a good smoke.
I worked until about 9pm last night, then after getting a text from a friend, joined him and others at our K of C to watch ND beat Texas (incredible). One of the brothers there is a huge LSU fan and alumnus (MBA).  He said the game was called because of a pending thunderstorm and was to be rescheduled ... Do you know when the game is going to be played?  I'll check back later ... have to do more packing.
For the record, I had a very nice FdlA toro while watching the game last night, sipping draft Sam Adams lager.

Thanks, TR ... never heard of such a thing ... 'preciate it ... BBQ&tater tot casserole sounds awfully good.
My parish is having annual Fall Festival in 2 weeks.  Friday night, Louisiana Shrimp boil (native LSU grad with many years experience is leading it), Zydeco band ... great time in past years, then the Padre, who is a master smoker, will have brisket, ribs and pulled pork with sides along with kids games, etc. on Saturday.
A team of men will be sipping bourbon, drinking beer (smoking cigars?) and tending the smoker over Friday night.

Wish you and Chip would be there to:1. Have fun & smoke cigars, 2. Add authenticity 3. Give an experienced evaluation ... But as a NoVA native, we were having so much fun we didn't want the band to stop or the evening to end.

Well, you guys won't have to listen to me rattle my brain any more over a new car.  We finally made up our minds to get a Honda Civic.  At the last minute my wife said, "You always sit in the drivers seat, maybe you should sit in the passenger seat for when I drive."  Little did I realize that the drivers seat goes up and down and when I was sitting in the Civic it was always down.  Well, the passenger seat doesn't go up and down and is in a fixed position. When I went to get in, I had to contort myself to get in and out of the car.  Ooops...  There goes the Civic.  So we had to step up to the Accord which has more room.  The worse part was the salesman explaining how the car works.  I had to initial and sign off on each question... The questions seemed to have gone on for 1/2 an hour.  Do you know if you press the station button on the radio and hold it in for 3 seconds it will beep and set the station to that button..?  Aaaa, yes I knew that...!  Well, initial here that I went over this with you.  Would you know if your driving down the highway and the back-up camera shows your going in the other direction, would you realize some thing is wrong...?  Godddd dang man, stop with the questions...!  Well initial here. My wife actually had to give me two Advils at that point...  5 hours later, we finally got to leave.  My wife said, "I'm too scared to drive it..!"  Are you fricking crazy..???  You can't drive the truck... Get your damn ass in that thing and drive it..!  My wife starts the car and in an excited voice she screams, "We got one with an air conditioner...!"  I looked at her and said, "I hope the hell we bought one with an air conditioner..!"  Oh well..!

The LSU Game was cancelled not called after several hours of delay and will not be rescheduled.
Quite the event.  Had me going there for a second with the master smoker.  Thought you were referring to cigar smoking till I got to the word brisket.
Quick drive-by ... Evening gents.  CB, he's still a rather young man, but has a refined taste in cigars, whiskeys and firearms. Hunts and knows how to prepare and cook the aminals he gets. Smart, knowledgeable and a true believer who's able to communicate that faith.

BD, that's a beauty!  Hope you got a good deal.  It'll last a long time with proper care and avoiding collisions with walls, fire hydrants, power poles and other vehicles.  Plus it will retain much of its value.

Got Tanya Tucker trying to sing the National Anthom  at the NASCAR race, shit she is older than me, Dad and Dean all added together!
Eldest son of long time family friends moved to Nashville to pursue a career in music ... one of his gigs was touring with Tanya Tucker for many years as a member of her band.  He started out as a guitarist, but learned fiddle, mandolin and banjo in order be more versatile.  Most recent years, he's been a member of Michelle Wright's band (out of Nashville, but the Canadian is real popular in her native country).

It's time for me to fix supper... bbl.
It's the things you don't think about when you set out to buy a car that windup deciding which one you drive off in.  Nice car.  Gonna appreciate the larger car.  Oh, and what's for dinner?
How was the BBQ Mayor?
It was really good.  Chicken, filet mignon, sausage, more chicken, grilled corn, watermelon, dessert, good coffee.  I wish I had some leftovers right about now.

Kids are in bed here.  Now just waiting for the wife to start snoring and I'll head out for a smoke.  I have to pretend to want to hang out with her for a bit since it's our anniversary.

Another exciting anniversary?  Stephania doesn't snore - she told me she doesn't not to be confused with what I actually hear.  Must be hearing things.
