Their pantry must run pretty deep, cause it seems like most jams follow that format these days.

On July 9, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was read aloud to Gen. George Washington's troops in New York.

On this date

In 1540, England's King Henry VIII had his 6-month-old marriage to his fourth wife, Anne of Cleves, annulled.

In 1816, Argentina declared independence from Spain.

In 1850, the 12th president of the United States, Zachary Taylor, died after serving only 16 months of his term. (He was succeeded by Millard Fillmore.)

1896, William Jennings Bryan delivered his famous "cross of gold" speech at the Democratic national convention in Chicago.

In 1918, 101 people were killed in a train collision in Nashville, Tennessee. The Distinguished Service Cross was established by an Act of Congress.

In 1938, Supreme Court Justice Benjamin Cardozo, 68, died in Port Chester, New York.

In 1945, architect Frank Lloyd Wright unveiled his design for the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, a spiral structure on Manhattan's Upper East Side that was completed in 1959.

In 1951, President Harry S. Truman asked Congress to formally end the state of war between the United States and Germany. (An official end to the state of war was declared in October 1951.)

Ten years ago: A purported Taliban spokesman in Afghanistan said the group had beheaded a missing American commando, but he offered no proof and the U.S. military said it was still searching for the Navy SEAL. (The body of the commando was found the next day; officials said it appeared he died as a result of fighting, and was never abducted.) Hurricane Dennis dealt a glancing blow to the Florida Keys. A panda cub, later named Tai Shan (ty shawn), was born at the National Zoo in Washington.

Five years ago: The largest U.S.-Russia spy swap since the Cold War took place on a remote stretch of Vienna airport tarmac as planes from New York and Moscow arrived within minutes of each other with 10 Russian sleeper agents and four prisoners accused by Russia of spying for the West.

One year ago: President Barack Obama began a two-day visit to Texas, where he met with state officials, including Gov. Rick Perry, to discuss the influx of unaccompanied children at the U.S.-Mexico border. Stephen and Katie Stay and four of their five children were shot to death at their suburban Houston home; the couple's 15-year-old daughter, who survived by playing dead, identified the shooter as her aunt's ex-husband, Ronald Lee Haskell, who faces multiple charges of capital murder. Modeling agency founder Eileen Ford, 92, died in Morristown, New Jersey.

Fried Eggs
-------------------------

A wife was making a breakfast of fried eggs for her husband. Suddenly her husband burst into the kitchen.

"Careful ... CAREFUL! Put in some more butter! Oh my GOD! You're cooking too many at once. TOO MANY! Turn them! TURN THEM NOW! We need more butter. Oh my GOD! WHERE are we going to get MORE BUTTER? They're going to STICK! Careful ... CAREFUL! I said be CAREFUL! You NEVER listen to me when you're cooking! Never! Turn them! Hurry up! Are you CRAZY? Have you LOST your mind? Don't forget to salt them. You know you always forget to salt them. Use the salt. USE THE SALT! THE SALT!"

The wife stared at him. "What the hell is wrong with you? You think I don't know how to fry a couple of eggs?"

The husband calmly replied, "I wanted to show you what it feels like when I'm driving!"

Everyone has done that trying new things just some don't admit it.  Nothing wrong with just trying different cigars be they good or terrible.  We are fortunate to have "tried them all" Travellin Dave for a reference book to save us a lot of bad buys.

Don't think I've ever had a legit Acid. I used to like the Natural, whichever one didn't have the sweetened tip. Haven't had one in forever, though. And I think one of my early orders was a sampler that had a 5V Gold, a Park Avenue and something else. So that's probably the only Gurk I've ever purchased.

Morning Mr. Mayor.  Years ago my son bought me a Beast for my birthday.  I'm sure he walked into a B&M knowing nothing and that's what the guy sold him, probably at MSRP.  I of course thanked him for the great cigar, but damn, hate it when vendors take advantage like that.

Can't decide whether to hit the blues on the sis or take my chances on the sprinter for a couple bucks less.  Cheap bastige conundrum.
Do you NEED the cigars?  My vote is for Sprinter.

As long as we're sitting in the confessional, once purchased a 10er of La Estrella Cubana robs.  Been so long I can't remember who told me they were a nice smoke. Most are still sitting in the "pit of despair" humi awaiting the canal.
I got some of those, as well. I found them to be a good golf course smoke.
Send me your address.
I'm good, thanks. That found was past tense. Lol. I rarely get to play anymore anyhow.

Well, lucky for you, they will be available all day on the sis as a fallback, so you can watch the sprints to your hearts content to possibly get that great deal.

With all this confessional stuff this morning, funny no one has fessed up to Gurkha's and Acids...
I have purchased many a Gurkha in my day.  I kept thinking, it must just be my immature palate because Charlie tells me the Beauty and the Beast are great cigars.  But the worst I bought were some sweetened cap bullshit sticks that I don't even remember what they were called.  Good morning, men.
Morning Mr. Mayor.  Years ago my son bought me a Beast for my birthday.  I'm sure he walked into a B&M knowing nothing and that's what the guy sold him, probably at MSRP.  I of course thanked him for the great cigar, but damn, hate it when vendors take advantage like that.
Well, there are times when you have somebody's nephew manning the counter at the B&M that doesn't know any better themselves.  Gurkha's sure present well.  I used to always take the wax sealed glass tubes as the sign of a top of the line cigar.  Price tags (retail) also said they were superior.

Super Premium 2nd.....isn't that and onymoron?
And considering the "flaws", variations, veins and whatever in 1st's, how much culling for visual really happens.
Only thing that would make them seconds is using leftover tobacco, being practice for Torcedores.

Yeah, if you logged in on that deal, all I can say is particularly bad timing.  Thankfully it moves along very quickly to less offensive offerings.

I think the items on the Sprinter must pop right back up when the sale didn't go through because of a bad card or something. How else can you explain this lighter again just 2 deals after we already saw it?

Did Pappy give up on the Recaps again? WAKE UP PAPPY!  ;D
I'm out with a Perdomo 20th maduro and a couple of beers, feel free to take over youngun.
I was gonna go with the papi chulo cigar I clipped and wasn't able to smoke yesterday but it's a little small.  I think I need to find something larger.
