Another Walmart run this morning, for sandwich supplies. Normally, I would have bought everything when I did my grocery shopping, but that never happened this week.

Anyway, the sandwiches are all made and only one more school drop-off to go.

I could easily sleep for two more hours in the morning if I were working from home, and didn't have a family. Just some thoughts for any bachelors that may be lurking out there.

I also think about how well off I would be, financially.

Anyhoo, this is turning into a deep downward spiral, so let me think about some positive thoughts...

Looks like I'll be working from the cigar lounge tomorrow.

How that man survived two decades of trying to destroy himself is a mystery.

I have a longtime friend in Michigan - Graydon Stuckey - who is a manufacturer of guitar amplifiers. He's become rather well known in the industry now, but I've got an amp he built for me back in the early oughts.  Graydon sold Joe a couple of his Guytron amps years ago, and fixed a couple of Joe's Vox AC-15 amps.  The shoddy build quality of those Voxes inspired Graydon's son Isaac - then 15 - to build his own copy.  Joe heard about it, and bought the amp.  So Isaac became a professional amp-builder at 15, and his first customer was Joe Walsh. That's not the good part of this story.

The good part is that Joe is auctioning off a huge amount of his accumulated gear right now, and Graydon's two Guytron Amps are on the block - but not Isaac's AC-15.  ;-) Apparently, Joe likes that amp too much, and we've been giving Graydon hell about that all week.   :)

I wouldn't bid on Joe's Guytron amps, even though it's for a good cause.  I know the guy who builds them, so I don't need to pay an inflated price because Joe Walsh sent electricity through them.   :)  And Graydon has designs on a classic Digital Delay that I own, so I have a standing offer from him to trade one of his amps of my choice for that.  But I need another guitar amp like I need a third kidney.

I haven't heard or played Isaac's amps.  But given who taught him, I'm sure they are terrific.  I don't think Isaac's doing much amp building these days.  He's grown up now, married, and just bought a house he's renovating.

The Joe Walsh auction is fun to browse, however.

https://www.juliensauctions.com/en/auctions/life-s-been-good-joe-walsh

Joe is clearly a gear hound.  There are some very fine pieces of guitar gear listed, but also a lot of really average, consumer-grade gear there that would sell for bargain basement prices if it hadn't been owned by Joe Walsh.  I have to believe a lot of it was given to him by manufacturers.

Here are the links to the Guytron amps built by my friend Graydon:

https://www.juliensauctions.com/en/items/2103541/joe-walsh-stage-played-guytron-gt100-f-v-guitar-amplifier-head
https://www.juliensauctions.com/en/items/2103542/joe-walsh-guytron-gt20-1x12-guitar-combo-amplifier
https://www.juliensauctions.com/en/items/2103543/joe-walsh-stage-played-guytron-bigtone-55-2x12-guitar-speaker-cabinet

That speaker cabinet was actually built by Paul Swanson.  Paul builds absolutely killer speaker cabinets.  I had one years ago and foolishly sold it.  I really want to order another, but I don't need any more guitar cabinets either.

That's something to look forward to.

The lounge is awesome, but not as good as the one depicted in the photos ClemsonDave provided.
I haven't been able to do that in a while.  Since we adopted the puppy in May, we've been reluctant to leave him unsupervised for more than a couple of hours.  But I'm due for a day of working at Smokey Joe's.

I must have missed the puppy announcement. Pics please.
Did I not mention it?  Sorry.
Very cute. What's his or her name?

The Joe Walsh auction is fun to browse, however.

https://www.juliensauctions.com/en/auctions/life-s-been-good-joe-walsh

Joe is clearly a gear hound.  There are some very fine pieces of guitar gear listed, but also a lot of really average, consumer-grade gear there that would sell for bargain basement prices if it hadn't been owned by Joe Walsh.  I have to believe a lot of it was given to him by manufacturers.

Here are the links to the Guytron amps built by my friend Graydon:

Fletcher - after Fletcher Clark, a little-noted Texas guitarist and loonatic I encountered when I was 12 and just starting to play guitar. Clark and his band Balcones Fault are the reason I was up late last night rehearsing yet another band.
