I have a conference to attend in Manhattan today. It's not likely I'll be able to get home in time to catch the last dress rehearsal for my son's play.
The ceiling collapsed in the auditorium at the end of last school year, and it is still under renovation. The theater teacher had to think quick on his feet and he had the kids write a play with a different venue. It's loosely based on Henry James' "The Turn of the Screw," and it is like a choose your own adventure story.
There are 12 principal actors and you follow them around the school. When they interact with another, you can choose to follow them instead. It's actually quite cool. Tomorrow is opening night, but I'm still hoping to make the last dress rehearsal. I've already done it twice.

Sounds like an interesting premise.

Not that early...Thanksgiving in two weeks where many start their lighting. Plus up north, you want to get the outside stuff done before the weather gets to cold and crappy.

That sucks. Makes you wish you'd appreciated all the times you felt fine.

Right? In the midst of it, you can't remember what feeling fine felt like. And then you get all excited when you're back down to just the runny nose and scratchy throat.

Remember how we used to joke about "six degrees of Kevin Bacon?"
We need a new game, one that predicts when a successful and critically esteemed television show will add Sam Elliot or Jimmy Smits to the cast, and how many seasons it lasts afterward.
Also...do we need a new descriptor for "television show?"

I know Jimmy Smits had a couple of shows in a row that canceled after the first season, not sure how the math changes if he's added to an existing show. But I was bummed he was replaced in Andor, I imagine because of scheduling issues.

Now the great debate starts on rounding up or down on a payment. Then again, today everyone only uses cards...

The immediate problem seems to be that some states require exact change by law, so just doing away with the penny was short-sighted, at best. Surprise, surprise.
