I missed some stuff yesterday. I will need to go back and see just what that is. But first, sandwiches are made and it's time for school drop-offs.

That was like having a commute, but ending up at home. Lots of flooding in the area from yesterday's deluge.

To answer Bret's questions from yesterday:
Do you think current immigration enforcement efforts are denying people due process? Why?
Yes, because there have been several incidents where legitimate citizens were deported. We can't just go in there gestapo style and cart people away without first verifying who they are.
And my second question: What do you think due process SHOULD look like for those who are unlawfully in the US?
There needs to be a way to process people in a humane manner, especially when it comes to separating parents, children, and other family members. I get that this could be cost prohibitive, but I read in the New York Times (probably biased) that the amount of money being spent by ICE is more than all state and municipal police nationwide combined. In that same article, it pointed out that the standards for these agents is far inferior to the vetting that goes into recruiting police officers. My big gut wonders if the juice is worth the squeeze. My suspicion is that this effort is being led by prejudice and racist agenda.

That's like saying I have a "suspicion" I might steal some candy from my kids tonight. :D
Speaking of which, time to head to school for pickup, then going to my parents house for the evening's activities with the middle kid and one of her friends. The other 2 will be elsewhere with friends. Normally, we'd have gone to the in-laws' this year, but they just today got the keys to their new place, so the timing didn't work there. Hazzuh!
