Childhood Sweethearts
-------------------------

An elderly couple who were childhood sweethearts had married & settled down
in their old neighborhood.

To celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary they walk down to their old
school. There, they hold hands as they find the desk they shared & where he
had carved "I love you, Sally".

On their way back home, a bag of money falls out of an armoured car
practically at their feet. She quickly picks it up, & they don't know what
to do with it so they take it home. There, she counts the money, & its
fifty-thousand dollars.

The husband says: "We've got to give it back".

She says, "Finders keepers" & puts the money back in the bag & hides it up
in their attic.

The next day, two FBI men are going from door-to-door in the neighbourhood
looking for the money show up at their home.

One knocks on the door & says: "Pardon me, but did either of you find any
money that fell out of an armoured car yesterday?"

She says: "No"..

The husband says: "She's lying. She hid it up in the attic."

She says: "Don't believe him, he's getting senile."

But the agents sit the man down & begin to question him.

One says: "Tell us the story from the beginning."

The old man says: "Well, when Sally & I were walking home from school
yesterday ..."

At this, the FBI guy looks at his partner & says: "We're outta here ..."

Good morning fellas. CFest was quite the success this year, we got up on Saturday and had some nice breakfast sandwiches before hitting the deck for a couple smokes. The house worked out great, thanks to all you guys for bringing a ton of food and doing the grilling.

Now that's done, WTF Tony? You were 3-4 hours late by all accounts. You bought all of that food and you should have been there by noon, couldn't even eat half of it due to the fact you snuck in under the cloak of darkness...matching Charlie with custom CigarBanter hoodies by the way! What, they only came in XXXL?

Here's a picture of the Hamburg contingent. Sly is in the red jacket with his crew at left, names escape me. Andy in black in the middle, LTG, Nate then myself at far right. We were drinking beers at 10AM and a round of Fireball shots (Nate's idea) at 10:15, great time at that store. Tony was nowhere to be found and Andy ran to Cabellas for 30 minutes to by an air rifle, quite the crew

We would have been pretty hungry if we waited for him for sure.
Well you guys clearly packed to wait for no man!
You know me, on time and properly prepared.
Is Bean sitll alive somewhere?
He's crusin' around the PA countryside, and mixing in a little work outside of Philly, just to break things up.
LOL, watching Bean try the Chocolate PB Porter was like watching a 5-year old eat brussell sprouts

Before I forget, two things you need to schedule into your SD trip.
1.  Dinner at Jake's in DelMar.  On the beach, do that obligatory Cali sunset thing.
2.  La Jolla.  Nice town to walk around, plenty of bars and restaurants, be sure to walk along the beach and see the sea lions.

Items for consideration
Dinner and beers at a Karl Strauss (multiple locations in the area)

Old Town, Downtown, Zoo is nice...

And of course there is this guidance:

My dad and I are huge Cameron enthusiasts, so combining that with him being a homebrewer and needing to see Stone's garden, we picked out the breweries around there that we really wanted to see.

We usually pick up a cigar or two there as there is a $5 cutting fee that they ignore if we do.  We always bring and smoke most of our own stuff and they don't mind....then again, we usually make it up in beers...

G'Morning, Fellas. How are the CFest hangovers coming along? Any pictures besides the 2 in the thread? Golf, I know you're one of the few that remember to snap some pics... Still looks a little cold out on the deck. Looks like the rain held off a bit anyway.
Morning BS

Hey there, Tx. Any mint juleps and/or large hats for you this weekend?
You name it I drank it this weekend if it had alcohol in it.   Had A nice mint julep for the race but the race atmosphere was just way off this year.  Not a great field of horses at all.

Well good morning Nate, it's about freakin' time! I see Progressive stock plummeting already. My roll of Susan B. Anthony dollars would have calmed down if you had stopped stroking it at some point

I don't, just the one I posted and I think Dave took a few that I'm sure he'll upload to Snapfish a bit later
Hmm, sounds like a good idea, maybe I'll do that...

He's really the last connection to the Delta origins.  The connection runs from King to Sonny Boy Williamson and bounces around among Robert Johnson, Howlin' Wolf, Tommy Johnson, Willie Brown and others before it winds up at Charley Patton.  To my knowledge, there is no other living notable connection that reaches back to the pre-war era.  When BB King goes, all that's left are recordings and pictures and the history books...and thank God for the Lomaxes.

that is correct he has been in and out of the hospital for a while.

Morning Wilderness Man Raz.

By the way, B.B. King is in Home Hospice Care now.
Saw that, but no word given as to why. But at his age, doesn't much matter. If the diabetes doesn't get him, cancer will.

But it'll be sad to lose him.
Definitely one of the if not the greatest Juke Joint Blues guy ever.   Yep he is plenty old enough but his music will live on for a mighty long time.
You know who James Stroud the Nashville Producer is?

Yep that would be the one.    He is from Shreveport and grew up across the street from my wife, his sister was her best friend.   But long before Marshall Tucker he left home and went to MS where he played drums for B.B. King for a while.

Lucky dog.  I first heard of Stroud when he was producing Clint Black.  Word was that he was from Marshall Tucker, but you can't throw a rock south of the Mason-Dixon without hitting someone who's played in MTB.

Howdy, Bret.  The t-shirt was under a sweatshirt all day so I have no idea.  Not that I would iron a t-shirt anyway.  I just assumed he dropped his kid off at school and went back home to bed.  I chalk it up to CP time and accept it as just that.

We would have been pretty hungry if we waited for him for sure.

I know I'd like to take one...next to Nate!
You and Nate are taking this joke a bit far.  At this point I'm ignoring your "no homos".
LALTS
Though, why assume it's a joke?
Time for the Mayor to change a couple people's stars to rainbow colors.
Oh no, in that case I take it back.  You don't know what a pain in the ass it is to have custom stars.  That's why I don't have them.
Do what you want for yours....I expect mine in 25.
Fishmath?
Not when I give you this answer...
Speaking of Math you are getting mighty close to SuperStar Gold Category around here!  That is if the Mayor does not change the rules again.
We shall see.

You and Charlie are taking this tardiness thing a bit far too, it's what we do around here.

I still can't figure out how his kid missing the bus, cleaning out a cooler and ironing a T-shirt made him 3 hours late
Charlie was probably admiring himself in the mirror with that sweet hoodie for at least hour or so

We would have been pretty hungry if we waited for him for sure.
why do you think i showed up at the last herf on my own. there is regular people time, and then there is Tony time.  Hello fellow BotL

Hey, if there are no gators swimming in it, no problem.

Patriot Outfitters now has G20 Gen 4s available.  $585.37.  Dunno how good a price that is.  Doesn't matter to me at the moment.  I have no-shit-no-kidding drained my Phun Fund and it will not recover until the 6th of June when it will have about $60 available. $850.03 spent on the Harley was worth every penny, but it took every penny.

It's okay though, I've got plenty of cigars, 300 rounds of ammunition on hand, 900 more rounds available on-demand in lots of 200, and my 50th birthday is coming in a couple of weeks. So I'll get some gifts to entertain me, and in any case I've got a boatload of things to do to keep me entertained until June.

I like the Gen 4s.  They fit my hands better, and I like the rough stipling.  The stipling isn't pleasant when you're putting 200 rounds through standing in a booth, but in action that stipling makes a big difference.  JMHO, etc.

So I'll get some gifts to entertain me, and in any case I've got a boatload of things to do to keep me entertained until June.

Well, we can hope.  Afternoon, Mikey!
evening EFDT.

I grabbed a smoke out of the muchador pocket of the CF duffel.  I think it's the Macorix habano by Jose Blanco.
Was anybody passing out anything new and tasty this year?
Nothing jumps out at me.  In fact, we were talking about skipping the main CF event next year, renting a place and having our own event instead;  BanterFest.

Cabaiguan lit on the patio.   84 and mostly sunny, pool is up to a mint green color now.
About the same temp here today too.  That Macorix (Not sure if it was hababo or maduro) wasn't half bad.  I made sure to set my expectations way low prior to putting fire to it.

Wish I was only a half century!  No great deal there, I am not a big Gen 4 fan myself but many are.
I like the Gen 4s.  They fit my hands better, and I like the rough stipling.  The stipling isn't pleasant when you're putting 200 rounds through standing in a booth, but in action that stipling makes a big difference.  JMHO, etc.
Simple old school grip fix cut off a piece of bicycle inner tube and put it over the grip.  Gen 4's will not use 1-2 & 3 mags and that pisses me off so I will not buy them.

I can understand that.  But since I don't have any accumulated Gen 1-3 mags, it isn't a big issue for me.

The cigars and liquor would be better, but I expect the eye candy would be seriously degraded.
