A very good Laranja!
Congrats on the victory, my friend. Any bowl games to look forward to?

Good morning, banterland. My first turkey came out excellent. It was very juicy and fed all 16 of us with no problem. My scratch gravy was just as delightful. I'm pretty happy with how everything turned out.

I planned to cook the 18.5 lb. bird covered, low, and slow for about 5 hours. I happened to find a probe that came with the oven and figured out how to set it so that when the dark meat reached 170°, I would be notified. Well, it took about 5 hours and he came out looking pretty handsome. Guests had arrived while I was taking it out to let it rest and I never got around to taking any photos of it. There's always next year.

Yea, looking like either Gator or Holiday. Holiday may be an interesting matchup with Oregon State and our transfer portal QB (transfer out) from last year.

Would that be around the new year? I don't know how that all works. It seems like the South Carolina game was the last one according to Google.

Steelers play today and I'm anxious to see what the mid-season offensive coordinator change will do for them. They replaced Matt Canada with their running backs coach, Eddie Faulkner. However, the QB coach, Mike Sullivan, is going to be calling the plays today. I would expect to see a lot of passing plays by Pickett but that's what screwed them last week.

Canada's firing marks the first time the Steelers have made a head coach or coordinator change mid-season since 1941.

I have to wait until 4:20 today. Bills are gonna rip my heart out this year.

That's quite a run. I remember seeing a stat once when we were really going through coaches that the Stillers had 3 head coaches in like 60 years, whereas it had been about 500 days for us.

That sounds about right. Noll, Cowher, Tomlin... Since '69.

Congrats on finding the W and some offense, Tony.
-
Heck of an end to the Jags/Texans game. New kicker for the Texans has a chance to tie it at the end with a 58-yard FG, and it was dead center but bounced off the crossbar. Oof.
-
Congrats on finding the W and some offense, Tony.
I didn't even know that because I've been sitting in traffic taking my daughter back to Rhode Island all afternoon.

5 hours. Still need to drive back.
The Browns score is not looking promising with only a couple of minutes remaining.
Rick's Bills might pull it off though.

I think at some point, we might need to give Flacco a chance.
Sorry about Rick's Bills. Hopefully, he did indeed give up on them and will avoid the ledge this week.

On the plus side, losing 29-12 gives us a Scorigami!

In 1883, former enslaved woman and abolitionist Sojourner Truth died in Battle Creek, Michigan.
In 1917, the National Hockey League was founded in Montreal, succeeding the National Hockey Association.
In 1941, U.S. Secretary of State Cordell Hull delivered a note to Japan’s ambassador to the United States, Kichisaburo Nomura (kee-chee-sah-boor-oh noh-moo-rah), setting forth U.S. demands for “lasting and extensive peace throughout the Pacific area.” The same day, a Japanese naval task force consisting of six aircraft carriers left the Kuril Islands, headed toward Hawaii.
