He and I have something common then. VPN issues at work means I've been stuck in a holding pattern all morning. What a PITA.

It'll certainly feel that way if today is any preview. Lol
I'll be doing my normal OT tomorrow, but probably not on Sunday because I've got to go out and pick up the donuts for FD dinner. But I'm gonna try to fit in OT whenever I can, because I have a sneaking suspicion it will be drying up very soon. In order to slow our growth, we're shutting down new agencies and any nonresident appointments, so our workload is about to drop significantly.

There's actually no one here. My wife is home sick and I didn't want to have to mail in my laptop so I commuted. The goodbyes are all virtual. Looking forward to lunch and a cigar this afternoon.

In 1963, the world's first female space traveler, Valentina Tereshkova, 26, was launched into orbit by the Soviet Union aboard Vostok 6; Tereshkova spent 71 hours in flight, circling the Earth 48 times before returning safely.
In 1970, Kenneth A. Gibson of Newark, New Jersey, became the first Black politician elected mayor of a major Northeast city. Chicago Bears running back Brian Piccolo, 26, died at a New York hospital after battling cancer.

In 2015, real estate mogul Donald Trump launched his successful campaign to become president of the United States with a speech at Trump Tower in Manhattan.

In 2020, federal authorities announced murder and attempted murder charges against an Air Force sergeant, Steven Carrillo, in the fatal shooting of a federal security officer outside a U.S. courthouse in Oakland, California. (Carrillo, who had ties to the far-right, anti-government "boogaloo" movement, pleaded guilty to a federal murder charge after prosecutors agreed not to seek the death penalty.)

One year ago: Witnesses testified to the Jan. 6 committee that Donald Trump's closest advisers viewed his last-ditch efforts to pressure Vice President Mike Pence to reject the tally of state electors and overturn the 2020 election as "nuts," "crazy" and even likely to incite riots. Industry officials said thousands of cattle in feedlots in southwestern Kansas died of heat stress due to soaring temperatures, high humidity and little wind. Must've been the rain we had last night. Even had a tornado come through a bit further south, I believe.

I keep seeing warnings too but unaware of any touchdowns.

We were also supposed to have our championship baseball game but that got postponed until tomorrow. The top seeded team we're going to play has beaten us three times during the regular season.

Both.
Edit: Although I think Boston scored two touchdowns today against the Yanks. One of them with a two-point conversation.
