The photo for Door #3 includes a box but it doesn't say that in the copy. Didn't think anyone was going to give a shit anyway. Although the copy does say, ”Our favorite Victor Sinclair release to date."

Good morning, banterers.

Good morning, banterers.
Morning, Tony. Middle kid up and out, on her way to DC. Woke up to make sure she and the wife were up, then went back to bed. Or, at least tried to. Fell asleep eventually, once they were gone and the house was quiet again. Lol

She's going to have a great time. The tradition in our town is that the 7th graders go on a weekend camping trip. My boys are scheduled to do that in mid-May. Then in 8th grade, they do the DC trip. That is, if the previous class doesn't fuck that up on them.
They almost weren't going camping this year because of that same class.

Oof, fingers crossed then.
I pulled out our small suitcase for her to take, which we don't usually need to use when we go somewhere, cause we use the bigger two. In fact, in the front pocket, I found an old wallet with my CF 2012 ticket and event schedule/map.

Lol, now THAT would've been something. But alas, it did not.

Even stranger, I was looking at the booklet and realized that while the ticket was from 2012, the booklet is from the 2013 event.

I brought a closed bag of tortilla chips to Brad's place the last time I was there. We never used them and he insisted that I take them back home with me. When my kids opened it they smelled of cigars. Tasted just fine but there was no mistaking the aroma coming out of the bag.

I think I'll be remote today. Been working on a spreadsheet since early morning and gotta start getting lunches ready. Figure I'll save some time on personal hygiene and commuting.
-
Not sure I posted about it yesterday but the fam and I wound up at the New York Botanical Gardens in the Bronx yesterday with some dear friends. Afterwards, we had an early dinner nearby at Antonio's.
Later we picked up my eldest from Penn Station as she has an early Spring Break.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230306/597ba4075f18e36a36e5a0ed7f9ca46b.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230306/abf858e9bf8bb93b8a25486de90ac1e7.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230306/30ce6ce8d69c95c30eea526c2ef1ed34.jpg)

At least if they make you commute a couple of times a week, it's nice the have the flexibility to pick and choose when you do.

It was very nice, indeed. Looks like we'll be going more often too because it was cheaper to get a membership since the family is large. The goal now is to go at least once per quarter. As a member, parking is half price and it might be worth it just for that.

Yes. For example, they have a very renowned Holiday Train Show at the end of the year.

I'm starting to see ants and I'm going to take that as a sign that winter is almost over. Now I have to remember where I put those traps.

That's cool. We used to have a membership to the natural history museum and they'd change up their special exhibit a couple times a year. But they're going through a huge renovation right now, so a lot of it is closed off for periods of time. Didn't feel like renewing it this time around.

Today is Monday, March 6, the 65th day of 2023.
There are 300 days left in the year.
Today’s highlight in history:
On March 6, 1944, U.S. heavy bombers staged the first full-scale American raid on Berlin during World War II.
On this date:
In 1834, the city of York in Upper Canada was incorporated as Toronto.
In 1836, the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas, fell as Mexican forces led by General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna stormed the fortress after a 13-day siege; the battle claimed the lives of all the Texan defenders, nearly 200 strong, including William Travis, James Bowie and Davy Crockett.
In 1857, the U.S. Supreme Court, in Dred Scott v. Sandford, ruled 7-2 that Scott, a slave, was not an American citizen and therefore could not sue for his freedom in federal court.
In 1912, Oreo sandwich cookies were first introduced by the National Biscuit Co.
In 1933, a national bank holiday declared by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, aimed at calming panicked depositors, went into effect.
In 1964, heavyweight boxing champion Cassius Clay officially changed his name to Muhammad Ali.
In 1970, a bomb being built inside a Greenwich Village townhouse in New York by the radical Weathermen accidentally went off, destroying the house and killing three group members.
In 1973, Nobel Prize-winning author Pearl S. Buck, 80, died in Danby, Vermont.
In 1981, Walter Cronkite signed off for the last time as principal anchorman of “The CBS Evening News.”
In 1998, the Army honored three Americans who’d risked their lives and turned their weapons on fellow soldiers to stop the slaughter of Vietnamese villagers at My Lai (mee ly) in 1968.
In 2002, Independent Counsel Robert Ray issued his final report in which he wrote that former President Bill Clinton could have been indicted and probably would have been convicted in the scandal involving former White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
In 2016, former first lady Nancy Reagan died in Los Angeles at age 94.

Ten years ago: Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., a critic of the Obama administration’s drone policy, launched an old-style filibuster to block Senate confirmation of John Brennan’s nomination to be CIA director; Paul lasted nearly 13 hours before yielding the floor. Syria’s accelerating humanitarian crisis hit a grim milestone as the number of U.N.-registered refugees topped 1 million, half of them children.
Five years ago: Top economic adviser Gary Cohn announced that he was leaving the White House after breaking with President Donald Trump on trade policy. Nashville Mayor Megan Barry, a one-time rising star in the Democratic Party, resigned after pleading guilty to cheating the city out of thousands of dollars to carry on an affair with her bodyguard. Schoolteachers in West Virginia announced an end to a nine-day walkout after state lawmakers approved a 5 percent pay raise.
One year ago: A second attempt to evacuate Ukrainians from the besieged city of Mariupol collapsed as Russian attacks made it impossible to create a humanitarian corridor, according to a Ukrainian official. In his first public remarks since resigning over multiple sexual harassment allegations, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo assailed the “cancel culture” he says was behind politically motivated efforts to remove him. A massive brawl broke out among fans of clubs in Mexico’s top-division soccer league, leaving 14 hospitalized, two of them in critical condition.

Thought I knew Connie Britton and recognized her when googled, but not on my list. None of these ladies are.

I probably should have known Ben Murphy, because I loved "Alias Smith and Jones" when I was a kid. But I'd never paid attention to the actors' names.

Almost 50° today but we may get some snow tomorrow. No real accumulation but enough to be annoying.

Winter is definitely hanging on stubbornly.

Page 4?
Now let's not get carried away.
I must say, when I saw page 3 I thought for certain that we were Jammin'.
Maybe next time, we'll even banter about cigars.
One step at a time.

I'd consider it if there was a guarantee that winter would end sooner.

Intrigued, sure. But willing to pay $50+ for a 5er? No way. I might be willing to pick one up at a B&M, but that would only really be for the aesthetic of enjoying one on St. Paddy's Day.

Grocery stores have all stopped using plastic bags
This would not be such a problem if they made decent paper bags. We even pay for the bags... They blow out all the time. I lost a jar of cheese wiz on the garage floor and spent nearly 250.00

I have a ton of the reusable bags but I always forget them in the trunk. I tend to bring the cart back to the car with all the items in it (bagless). Then I load everything into the reusable bags as I load up the trunk.

I'm not gonna lie though, I'm very curious to know what Rick's using Cheese Whiz for?

More bad news for musician Raz as Gary Rossington dead at 71.

That's between him and Mrs. Rick.

Some places around here have started to go bagless, but Walmart hasn't yet.

Yeah, got that news last night.
This is the winding down of an unprecedented revolution in popular music that was presided over by three generations. The like of it won't be seen again.

So are mine. And I still forget to take them in with me. When for a half century bags were gratis, you have a problem adapting.
