Post by: CigarBanter on February 16, 2015, 12:03:24 AM
HAPPY PRESIDENT'S DAY!!! Unless you're working, then it's just friggin Monday.  Hopefully you're enjoying the long weekend.  Otherwise, perhaps some cigar deals will help ya get through it.  Share what you know in this forum and perhaps learn something about cigars along the way.  Be warned, post on this site and you will catch hell from members and trolls alike.  Therefore, don't proceed if you have thin skin.  If you can accept all that, light a cigar, pour your favorite beverage and welcome aboard!

Ten years ago: The NHL canceled what was left of its decimated schedule after a round of last-gasp negotiations failed to resolve differences over a salary cap — the flash-point issue that had led to a lockout. Carmelo Anthony made an All-Star record eight 3-pointers and scored 30 points, and the Eastern Conference overcame 38-point efforts by Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin for a 163-155 win. At the Sochi Games, Kjetil Jansrud won the fourth straight Olympic super-G gold medal for Norway; Andrew Weibrecht of the United States wound up second while American teammate Bode Miller and Jan Hudec of Canada tied for third. (Miller, at 36, became the oldest ever Olympic Alpine medalist.)

Was a lot of fun - small town of 650 or so and I bet 350 people were there.  Good to see a community turn-out like that - did the gun raffle and bid on a few but the warden took my bidding stick away.  Won a couple of silent auction items and was good at driving up the price at the live auction  :D

Pretty much - almost bought a trolling motor for a boat I don't have, was a damn good deal and I will need one in the next 10 years...but I resisted, haha.
Yeah that was embarrassing, I made her apologize give it some kisses to bring its ego back up

Good Monday morning YellowStar.  How was your gala Saturday night?
Was a lot of fun - small town of 650 or so and I bet 350 people were there.  Good to see a community turn-out like that - did the gun raffle and bid on a few but the warden took my bidding stick away.  Won a couple of silent auction items and was good at driving up the price at the live auction  :D
So in other words, you did a lot to help the cause and it didn't cost you anything extra.

Any warden who encourages the purchase of motorized toys is a warden worth listening too. And before you knuckledraggers pile on, we're talking toys on or in which a person conveys himself over land, water, or through the air.

I really like it - good subplots with enough drama in the main plot to keep it running.  One of the better shows I have seen, might watch 1 or 2 episodes from S2 tonight(assuming I can get them OnDemand from my cable company)

So in other words, you did a lot to help the cause and it didn't cost you anything extra.
And sorry to hear that the warden took your stick.
Pretty much - almost bought a trolling motor for a boat I don't have, was a damn good deal and I will need one in the next 10 years...but I resisted, haha.
Yeah that was embarrassing, I made her apologize give it some kisses to bring its ego back up
Good recovery.
If you men have taught me anything, it's to be light on my toes :)
Yeah, but a trolling motor for a boat you don't have?  You deserved to have your stick yanked, and not in the good way.
I agree, it's like planning to start smoking cigars so you buy a cutter
Here's the worst part: she wanted me to buy it, cause then it would mean we would get a boat - she is a sneaky little devil!
Sounds like a no-brainer then
Any warden who encourages the purchase of motorized toys is a warden worth listening too. And before you knuckledraggers pile on, we're talking toys on or in which a person conveys himself over land, water, or through the air.
Does that include the kind my warden has in her night stand with the 30AMP twist-lock plug?

I live right next to the land of 10,000 lakes, I'm sure I could have sold it if need be ;)
Yea, but you can just walk across them...
I suppose I could use my humidor as a canoe - not sure how water/aero-dynamic it would be tho...
Probably need feet to help it steer however.
I figure those would just create more drag, left em off ;)
Rudders boy, rudders.
As long as it's not a Dutch Rudder

Was a lot of fun - small town of 650 or so and I bet 350 people were there.  Good to see a community turn-out like that - did the gun raffle and bid on a few but the warden took my bidding stick away.  Won a couple of silent auction items and was good at driving up the price at the live auction  :D
So in other words, you did a lot to help the cause and it didn't cost you anything extra.
30amp eh? - hope that's only a 110/120 v ;)
It's 2 Phase
Sorry, no such thing.  Either single phase or three phase.  Art History majors, sheesh.
I think Scott meant 2 speed, his wife would be the best one to ask...   ;)
Or perhaps the two phases means first her and then him.
I was thinking the same line, only he just feels the speed difference, she is the one with the control module ;)
Of all the days for BD to miss, it's the one where he'd be the resident expert. Sheesh.

Is it on Netflix?

Not Tuesday here at my house, it is Presidents Day here. :).  I am struggling though to remember last time we had a real President to be proud of.
Jimmy Carter didn't fill that bill for you?
::).   But I will not deny that at my young barely out of college age at the time I voted for the MF'r.  Last D I ever pulled the lever for.
Never pulled on any D's myself. ;)
LMFAO.

Good morning again.
Morning Mr. Mayor.  Did we ignore you the first time?  Imagine that.
No.  I went back to bed.
I'm envious, can I live vicariously through you today?  Good morning Tony!  Good morning world!

There is no US Presidents Day. Why does the charade continue?

There is a federal holiday Monday, but it’s called 'Washington’s Birthday.' Yet mattress retailers and used-car sales lots tend to make this Presidents Day in their ads.

Nice Padron sampler up if you like 0% savings deals.
Have to jump on a bargain like that!
They're selling well though.
I still get the whoops page.
Working fine here, seeing Rocky Patel Catch 22.  In other words, whoops.
Hi Bean!
Hey Sammy.  Heading out for meetings/more workaference.  BBL.
Don't you know it is a Holiday?  ;D
It's PRESIDENT'S DAY!!!
I liked it better when we got Washington's birthday then Lincoln's birthday off on their respective birthday date.   seems as though we traded one of them off for MLK day, and now I don't get either one off.

Dog home doing great.  Thanks again for the prayers and well wishes.
Always great to hear - now smoke a celebratory cigar!
I would luv to but too damn cold and windy.  37 with wind chill of 29 and cloudy but rain moved out.
That shit is on its way here now. It's going to be a cold nasty day in the city Tuesday for Mardi Gras.

Ouch.  But all considered, he nor you can complain.  Of course, I'm sure the cost of the surgery will put a bit of a damper on your cigar budget.  So maybe you CAN complain.

With what I got invested in this dog cost of surgery was incidental.  But really it cost a lot less than I thought it would, no complaints.  I keep a few years worth of cigars in the humi though in case of financial disruption. :)

Heading for the house to drink whiskey straight out of the bottle and pass-out on the patio in the freezing rain.  Have yet to get my man card punched in that category.  Adios, mofos.

Good evening but that will trump me because it was dry and well above freezing.

Chit now saying we could have some light freezing rain tonight.
Not supposed to stick, though.  Maybe a little ice on the windshield, but you can bet your IT guys will be AWOL.

Hell yeah I should say so, neither will I!  Actually taking tomorrow off to look after dog.

When those weather bastards say it want stick is when we better look out.
I took tomorrow off too.  Glad to hear the pup is doing ok.
Good for you just stay cozy warm under the covers.  Thanks for well wishes for the dog.  He is doing good has a 7" incision sewn & stapled together down the middle of his back leg.
Ouch.  But all considered, he nor you can complain.  Of course, I'm sure the cost of the surgery will put a bit of a damper on your cigar budget.  So maybe you CAN complain.

That's wise.  ;)

Been trying to setup Apple TV for the better part of the afternoon.  Plug and play my ass!  Won't set the network date and time via wifi.  Google search reveals this is a problem for everybody, so going to try the hotspot on the phone.

I have two of them and they are great when they work right but I am always having trouble getting one or the other to work right.  But when I first got one I was using an Apple AirPort Extreme  router and never had any trouble with it.

Deans favorite NASCAR Driver.

(Reuters) - NASCAR driver Kurt Busch was ordered on Monday to stay away from his ex-girlfriend amid accusations of domestic violence, a Family Court commissioner in Kent County, Delaware, ruled.

Patricia Driscoll, 37, said Busch grabbed her by the neck inside his motorhome at Dover International Speedway in Delaware on Sept. 26 and repeatedly hit her head against a wall.

Busch, who is expected to ride in the Daytona 500 on Sunday, has denied the charges, testifying last month that he cupped Driscoll's cheeks but never smashed her head against a wall.

Commissioner David Jones said in his order that Busch, the 2004 NASCAR champion, "has committed an act or repeated acts of domestic violence against" Driscoll.

The one-year order requires the 36-year-old Busch to stay at least 100 yards (91 meters) away from Driscoll, except at NASCAR races where his work might require him to be closer.

It is now up to the Delaware attorney general's office to determine whether it will seek criminal charges.

I believe part of my problem is that I use MAC address filtering with my router instead of a password to access my network.  I always have to cancel the device setup to get the mac from settings.  Funny thing is I never have trouble doing it this way with a PS, Wii, Xbox, computers, phones, iPads...  Just this damn ATV.

I wonder what the difference is between a Whoops Cigar and an Error Cigar????  Whoops Cigars seem to move a lot slower than error cigars.

Could be, but googling the problem brings many with the same problem.  No problems with any other Apple devices, and we have 4 iPads and an iPhone in the house.  What kind of router are you using, Scott?

Don't really know but I do know that we were having connection issues prior to the ATV so we complained and they send a really good tech that fixed some issues and replaced the router and it's been great ever since. Probably has a lot to do with the performance
