Britain's Prince Charles announced he would marry his divorced lover, Camilla Parker Bowles, in April. North Korea boasted publicly for the first time that it possessed nuclear weapons. New York civil rights lawyer Lynne Stewart was convicted of smuggling messages of violence from one of her jailed clients, radical Egyptian sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman, to his terrorist disciples on the outside. (Stewart was initially sentenced to two years, four months in prison, but had that sentence increased to 10 years; she was released in Dec. 2013 because of her terminal cancer.)
-
Five years ago: Shuttle Endeavour arrived to a warm welcome at the International Space Station, delivering a new room and observation deck. Dumb Kid
-------------------------
A young boy enters a barber shop and the barber whispers to his customer, "This is the dumbest kid in the world. Watch while I prove it to you."
The barber puts a dollar bill in one hand and two quarters in the other, then calls the boy over and asks, "Which do you want, son?"
The boy takes the quarters and leaves. "What did I tell you?" said the barber. "That kid never learns!"
Later, when the customer leaves, he sees the same young boy coming out of the ice cream store. "Hey, son! May I ask you a question? Why did you take the quarters instead of the dollar bill?"
The boy licked his cone and replied, "Because the day I take the dollar, the game is over!"

The fruit punch one is pretty good, but usually save that for early morning driving on trips and whatnot.

I have to say that although there is nothing new and I haven't scrutinized the prices, there have been some decent smokes on this jam thus far.

Either that or the Hamburg store, whichever is closer. Hamburg store has 2 floors and a couple of bars.

Thanks, Dave. Looks like the superstore is maybe 10 mins closer. But I do like the "couple of bars" feature. Can you smoke in both?

From your location, Superstore would be a bit closer, but with the ice, roads might be better to Hamburg.

Absolutely. Though, the superstore is closer to the Wooden Match, the restaurant CI used to own that you can also smoke cigars in. They have some pretty good food, if you're going around dinner time and are hungry. Can't go wrong either way, I think.

What a day, a 3 hour meeting that has nothing to do with what I do this afternoon but somebody wanted to feel important and has 2/3 of the office coming and even far more disturbing, as some know I have a Labrador Retriever that is my pride and joy along with my best friend and hunting partner and he has something wrong with one of his back legs, big sort of knot just came up very quickly on it and got to take him to the Dr at 5:30 to see what that is about. Does not seem to be causing any pain and his leg motion is perfectly normal so a strange thing but I am very concerned.

For 10 minutes the Hamburg store is a no-brainer. The stores are about 30-35 minutes apart however, you must be splitting them? You can smoke everywhere in both stores, can't go wrong either place but Hamburg is the best one IMO

Good morning, gents.
Morning Mayor Tony
Good morning, TXDave.

Morning men. I'm north of Philly for a couple days and with the way things are shaping up I might have time to make a run up to the motherland later today. Is the superstore the preferred destination?
Either that or the Hamburg store, whichever is closer. Hamburg store has 2 floors and a couple of bars.
Thanks, Dave. Looks like the superstore is maybe 10 mins closer. But I do like the "couple of bars" feature. Can you smoke in both?
Indeed, full smoking lounges, but bars and serving wenches in Hamburg.
You had me at "wenches". Gotta run, perhaps I'll check back in from Hamburg. We shall see.
Later Bean, be safe around the ice!
Supposed to warm up in the 40s today so he should be good.

The Headquarters orangatans are trying to blame it on a "suspicious email" that brought down the email system....... no IT guy here but why woud that bring down the internet among other things? Interesting because I went home and logged onto the Webmail system and my email was working just fine.

Damn, it's only 8:25am and I'm already having a bad day. My wife was off yesterday, but told a friend that she would fill in for her last night from 6pm till 8pm, so her friend could go to a funeral. So she left before I could cook supper. All I had yesterday was breakfast, a bowl of popcorn, and a cigar. When she got home she wasn't hungry, so I went to bed hungry. This morning I asked her if she was hungry and she said no. Mmmm, I get up and go into the kitchen and theirs dirty dishes everywhere. No wonder she's not hungry. She ate in the middle of the night. Now I find I don't have any bisquits for bisquits and gravy, no eggs for bacon and eggs, just cold cereal. I step outside, and damn if I don't have another mole...!!! I might as well just go back to bed and stay awake...!

The church that I grew up in, it was a sin to smoke and ya'd go to hell. So I doubt that I'll be reading any signs up there. But on the other hand, if you end up where I'm already scheduled to go, you'll be the one smoke'n.

Was not room to acknowledge it in Tony's alloted space but that "smoking in heaven" is a quote from Mark Twain.

On Feb. 10, 1940, MGM released the animated short "Puss Gets the Boot," the debut of Tom and Jerry (although in this cartoon, the cat is called "Jasper" by its owner while the mouse was dubbed "Jinx" by creators William Hanna and Joseph Barbera).
Ya just can't beat a good Tom and Jerry cartoon, except for Road Runner cartoon played on a big screen at the movies..!

Isn't it about time for Joe to pop in for his 20 Tuesday minutes?

Today's Highlight in History:
I've always been more of a Woody Woodpecker fan myself. My kids are really into the Little Rascals movie lately. I'd love for them to see the old black and white series but you can't get that anywhere. Fucking, Cosby.
I believe you can buy a Little Rascals DVD set at a fairly reasonable price. I got Leave it to Beaver and Sea Hunt DVD sets that I watch on cold weekend mornings.
Nice! I've gotten The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Wild Wild West, and the original Star Trek complete sets.

That's the 2nd time within a week, some one has mentioned watching Sea Hunt. My drinking buddy mentioned it the other day. Deja Vu...!

Holey Moley! Mornin', BD. Don't worry. Thomas and Friends will be on soon enough. ;)
Yeah, that's right. Maybe if I'm lucky, George Carlin will be doing the narration...!
Ha! Maybe work up to a drinking game for The Price is Right. Do a shot whenever "Higher or Lower" is said. :o
Years ago I took a board drinking game entitled, "Pass Out," to a New Years Eve Party. We started playing at 9:30pm and by 10:15pm everyone was passed out and we all missed New Years...
I've heard of it, and also played. Sounds like you were with a bunch of rookies who only needed the "glass of champagne" before bed.

I haven't looked for the Rascals but I remember hearing that Bill Cosby bought the rights to all of them and won't allow them ever to be shown again because African Americans are not depicted in the proper light. Diddling roofied woman is cool though.

Our Two IT Idiots conversation this morning - (our computers crapped out about 11:15 yesterday morning and never came back up all day) What happened yesterday? I don't know was something wrong?
Our IT idiot is often unaware of the issues around here
There's a big difference between not knowing and not caring.
True, but when the entire system is down for more than 1/2 the day how in the fuch can anybody not know, especially the so called IT person''s??? I dunno.
I was making reference to who Scott was talking about, our mutual IT person...
DAAHHH, now I gottcha, not too fast myself you know. But fyi ours don't know and sure as hell don't care.
I think that's in the job description for IT jobs everywhere.
Commie bastiges!
You doing any re-organizing today CG
Doing some of my own, just met with a recruiter from another company...gotta keep those options open!
I agree. Now can you convince my son of that who seems to think $10 an hour is allot of money..!

Hey guys, Dean here! Wifi problems this morning, had 3 cigars and 4 pots of coffee before heading to golf. Worked out of the bunkers before the round where I started off with a bogey, an EPC 2nd and a water. Shot 56 through the front 9, 66 degrees and partly sunny heading to the back 9. Just lit a SL Oval maduro and brewed another pot of coffee on my golf cart. Will stop on the way home for ground beef, swiss cheese and mushrooms, not sure what I'll do with that combination but I'll think of something. Also need to stop for cat food and a tube of silicone, noticed a slight roof leak in the rain yesterday so I'll fix that then feed the cat and relax with a cigar.
When my wifi is back up I'll post a weather report on the incoming storm that will hit Upstate N.Y. by Thursday. Off to a meeting

As you can see, workaferanced here also! Things are good, thanks! a lot of running around to do today, so i'll be leaving in a 1/2 hr or so. Family well?

Good to hear from you Dean. Guess you are prepping up for the Valentines spectacular as soon as golf and a mushroom swiss burger are finished.
Indeed, have a landlord, 2 biker chicks and a cat to buy for
Let me know the next time you're going to post as Dean, I'll turn your stars red.
what next time he posts as Dean, you are going to make him see stars! OMG
got me a McDonald's coupon and a McDonalds at the end of the block... hello lunch time...

Today's Highlight in History:
The Wild Wild West kicks ass.
Morning, muchachos. Haven't worn the Aircast since noon yesterday. Actually wearing two shoes at the moment. I'm not quite sure what to do with myself.
Congrats on losing the cast!!
Wild Wild West was one of my all time favorite shows growing up!

Twenty more Cuarentas ordered, and the sun is shining here for a moment. It's a good day. I don't give a fuck if Hiwotie Eneyew did not update for 02/09. It's still a good day.
Sorry, work creeped in there.
Sure you won't need another 10 for a buffer?

Happy Tuesday, all.
Hey JWacky! How goes it?
Just booked travel the weeks of Feb 22, Mar 1 and 8. First trip will be split between Irvine and Vista (Vista Wed. and Thurs), but the second and third are all Vista. Time to do some Churchill's planning!

I haven't looked for the Rascals but I remember hearing that Bill Cosby bought the rights to all of them and won't allow them ever to be shown again because African Americans are not depicted in the proper light. Diddling roofied woman is cool though.
I heard you been bullshitted again.

Hadn't seen that show in ages until I was laid up with the broken leg and caught it at 3:00 one morning. But I kept expecting Lloyd Bridges to morph into his character from Hot Shots!, which kind of ruined it for me.

Ok, heading to Dover DE. you all have a great afternoon!!
"Look, mother, I want to go to work in one hour. We are the Pros from Dover and we figure to crack this kid's chest and get out to the golf course before it gets dark. So you go find the gas-passer and you have him pre-medicate this patient. Then bring me the latest pictures on him. The ones we saw must be 48 hours old by now. Then call the kitchen and have them rustle us up some lunch. Ham and eggs will be all right. Steak would be even better. And then give me at least ONE nurse who knows how to work in close without getting her tits in my way." -- Hawkeye Pierce

Happy Tuesday, all.
Morning Joe. LTG thinks it's about fucking time you showed up
Hey there, Scott. James Pepper 1776 ale aged in rye whiskey barrels and Victory at Sea were my beers of the weekend. Both pretty damn good.
Still no VaS around here, I'm beginning to think it's a conspiracy
At least you get all that great Southern Tier stuff...

Indeed. I would trade Ballast Point for Southern Tier. Lots of things that are "close enough" to VaS. Nothing really matches Choklat or Warlock, which have been my two favorites. Lots of others look good, though.

Holy crap, on a conf call with my Veep and she doesn't make a lick of sense. I've counted about 83 "uh" "um" "aaaa" so far.

Today's Highlight in History:
That's the 2nd time within a week, some one has mentioned watching Sea Hunt. My drinking buddy mentioned it the other day. Deja Vu...!
One of my favorite shows, led me to become a certified diver at the age of 13.
Huh, figured you were certifiable, but didn't know you were a diver. Sea Hunt was my 2nd favorite after Wild Wild West. They ran into some of the craziest things on the sea floor...
Sea Hunt was my favorite with Sky King my second and actually have a pilots license too.
I do remember Sky King! And I'm getting Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea confused with Sea Hunt! Sea Hunt was the Bridges family, right? if so, i also likes that show!
It was Loyd Bridges (aka Mike Nelson) and two things happened in every episode: 1) Somebody(s) got their ass whipped either in, out or both of the water 2) Mike Nelson got some poontang, behind the scenes of course in those days.

CG is pretty adventurous but not an adult so guess Tony might be interested, that would be an adventure for the other adults.

Got it here now saw it on the shelf Sunday in bombers @ $9.95
Little pricey, only $7ish here, but what's an extra few bucks once in a while? 10% ABV so you get your money's worth.

There was also a leaking or cut air hose.
Every damned time. And it was always the wrong hose. I wish just once some villain would be smart enough to cut the right hose.
Cypress Gardens is just down the road from Silver Springs. Two fun spots when trips to central Florida were much simpler. Hell, used to be a trip from the little airport was through orange groves, cattle pastures and swamps instead of neighborhoods, time shares and toll roads...
Yep the good ol days were really nice when life was so simple and Coors Beer was something special.
paid $20 dollars for a six pack, that some band had brought from Denver the night before, in Rochester NY in 1974.
You could've gotten arrested for that.
My Dad used to drive the ol station wagon over to TX a couple of times every summer and load it up with Coors and haul it back to Louisiana, he was one of their first "distributors" you could say.
Did one show with water skiing at Cypress Gardens.

Hoboken Pie was pretty damn good. They used to call it NY Style Pizza now they changed the sign to say Jersey Style Pizza, if there is actually a difference then makes sense though isn't Hoboken in NJ?
Indeed it is!

I haven't looked for the Rascals but I remember hearing that Bill Cosby bought the rights to all of them and won't allow them ever to be shown again because African Americans are not depicted in the proper light. Diddling roofied woman is cool though.
I heard you been bullshitted again.
The Little Rascals: The Complete Collection

I stand corrected. According to snopes.com:
"Around 1989, the rumor began circulating that entertainer Bill Cosby had bought up the rights to The Little Rascals episodes for the express purpose of keeping them off of television because of their demeaning portrayal of blacks. This rumor has nothing to it, of course: King World Productions has owned and licensed the rights to The Little Rascals for over thirty years. The series has been syndicated to television many times and the video rights to some episodes were licensed to Cabin Fever Entertainment in 1997, but Bill Cosby has never owned any part of the rights to The Little Rascals."

last time i checked yes, but they say it it NYC water which makes the pizza dough & bagels the best.
In other words, get it straight from the sewer?
NYC water, NY State and NJ water consistenly get rated higher than most bottled waters.

Same hospital, actually. It had been renamed at one point but not sure it still exists.

Guess the meetings killed the banter. Maybe it was the Bueso's
Oh, didn't see you there, Steve.
Yep. Over here behind the Bueso's. Glad to hear you got outta the cast... and picked up some extra Cuarenta inventory. ;)
Well, they weren't corona gordas, but that's okay. Nothing's going to spoil my mood today. Not even CB. ;-)
Which Partagas D you usually get... #5?
Sorry, got distracted there. I haven't had a #5. I've only had the D #4. I hear good things about the #5, just haven't ventured to buy one yet, nor have any of my Cuban-buying friends.
The #5 is a FEB special at iHababo, so was just curious.
See, this is why I haven't had one yet. They're $7 a stick for a 4.75" cigar. For just under $8 a stick I can get Partagas Serie P #2, a cigar I love. And it's longer.
Wait for it...wait for it...
For you Travellin' Bean.....TWSS!
You've just been 3Bean'd... just don't rub him the wrong way. TWSS

What's the over/under on Dave getting home and resuming recaps before this current offering ends?

But as one who enjoys Papas Fritas, Room 101 Papi Chulo's and Short Stories, there's something to be said for the more petite smoke.
Oh, yeah, there is. I say it all the time. And then I buy more Serie P #2s.
It's a sickness.

I'd put the deal at +1 hour. This sorry Lot always hangs around too long... and with that, I'm out.

It does feel a bit like walking into the catalog, except with higher B&M prices. And booze. And wenches.

Do the booze and women justify the higher cigar prices?

Less than an hour. About 50 minutes I guess. Had some dinner at the Red Robin next door and came over.

Not you're basic B&M is it! Nothing like a bar on each floor. Thinking its probably not balcony weather. Beaner!

As B&M's go it's one of the nicest for the price of the sticks. Only down side is the selection is what CI carries, which is a lot but nothing off the beaten path. As for the wenches, they are easy enough on the eyes. No complaints.

Mikey! No, balcony is empty, though they do have a nice enclosed "solarium" as Sly calls it. I'd make this place a habit if it were in my town.

And upon further consideration, the place kicks ass. Spacious, two bars, pretty, attentive waitresses, high bay with good ventilation, largeish beer seection. What's not to like?

That it's in Pennsylvania. That it would be illegal in Washington State. That I'm not there.
I hate the place.

Nothing like this in Austin, either. Havana Mix in Memphis comes the closest of the places I've visited. I'm sure NJDave has a longer list around the country/world.

Indeed. You'd think by now they'd have that schitt figured out.
I can send our crackerjack IT guys to take care of it for you.
But only if the weather is nice. Otherwise it's GFY.
That would be correct they do not work if it is raining.

One other thing about the CI Hamburg bar, pint drafts are $3. Two thumbs up.
Only one thumb they need to raise the price of beer and lower the price of cigars!
-
You should check this Town out Bean, sounds like our kind of place.

Naw, I dont begrudge them their cigar prices if they're going to price the accompaniments less than just about any bar you walk into. One this nice, anyway.

Either that or all the college kids are working on the web. Happens periodically.

Guess I'll grab Shaun's seat. (TWSS). Checking in from the CI Hamburg store. Cigar wenches, indeed.
Not you're basic B&M is it! Nothing like a bar on each floor. Thinking its probably not balcony weather. Beaner!
Mikey! No, balcony is empty, though they do have a nice enclosed "solarium" as Sly calls it. I'd make this place a habit if it were in my town.
Yep, be nice to have something like that n Cincinnati
.
CB...any of the bars at the casino allow smoking?
Indiana casino's, yes. Ohio casinos, no. Horseshoe in Cinci has a "porch" with slots and a bar.

Great basketball game on, LSU vs Kentucky. Wonder if Chip is watching.

Game over, Kentucky by 2, still undefeated. Cigar nubbed and time for me to hit the road. Adios, mofos.

Plus cigar prices are not any different than any other B&M, probably a little lower....probably give one free with five purchased like the Superstore as well.
