Time to start another week. But at least this one ends with the end of the school year and a 3-day weekend.

End of the school year is a good thing for you?
-
Good morning, Dave.
-
Did I miss a jam over the weekend?
-
My 2nd daughter is STARTING full days at school this week. We've got another month before summer vacation actually starts.

Normally, it means the end of driving to pick them up every day, which is good. This year, we're just slogging through to the end with all this virtual crap. I'll be very glad when it's over.

Oof.

I failed to check any of the deals over the weekend. In fact, you just reminded me to check them today.
-
Looks like CI has some 10ers with a $20 CI gift card freebie. Couple of decent options there.

I didn't check either. Assuming there's wasn't one, it's been about a week and a half since...

The boys have been out of my hair for 4 hours each morning. I haven't minded driving them to and fro since it forced me to step away from my PC for a bit. When they're home for summer they may sleep in some but there will definitely be less quiet and more fighting.

I have no problem stepping away from the laptop when the day is done. But with the 2 younger ones doing school from the kitchen table most times, I anticipate the same level of fighting once summer vacation hits. Lol

Today is a shit show. Dropped off daughter first. Waiting for the boys to be ready so that I can drop them off too. Then the car goes to the body shop. All the while, I'm on coherence calls.

Sounds like a lack of coherence calls to me. Sheesh!

Not unless you include your event in Conneticut.

Today is Monday, May 24, the 144th day of 2021.
are 221 days left in the year.
Today’s Highlight in History:
On May 24, 1935, the first major league baseball game to be played at night took place at Cincinnati’s Crosley Field as the Reds beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 2-1.
On this date:
In 1844, Samuel F.B. Morse transmitted the message “What hath God wrought” from Washington to Baltimore as he formally opened America’s first telegraph line.
In 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge, linking Brooklyn and Manhattan, was dedicated by President Chester Alan Arthur and New York Gov. Grover Cleveland.
In 1941, the German battleship Bismarck sank the British battle cruiser HMS Hood in the North Atlantic, killing all but three of the 1,418 men on board.
In 1961, a group of Freedom Riders was arrested after arriving at a bus terminal in Jackson, Mississippi, charged with breaching the peace for entering white-designated areas. (They ended up serving 60 days in jail.)
In 1962, astronaut Scott Carpenter became the second American to orbit the Earth as he flew aboard Aurora 7.
In 1974, American jazz composer and bandleader Duke Ellington, 75, died in New York.
In 1976, Britain and France opened trans-Atlantic Concorde supersonic transport service to Washington.
In 1980, Iran rejected a call by the World Court in The Hague to release the American hostages.
In 1991, the feminist film drama “Thelma & Louise,” starring Susan Sarandon (as Louise) and Geena Davis (as Thelma), was released by MGM.
In 1994, four Islamic fundamentalists convicted of bombing New York’s World Trade Center in 1993 were each sentenced to 240 years in prison.
In 1995, former British Prime Minister Harold Wilson died in London at age 79.
In 2001, 23 people were killed when the floor of a Jerusalem wedding hall collapsed beneath dancing guests, sending them plunging several stories into the basement.
-
Ten years ago: Egyptian authorities ordered former President Hosni Mubarak tried on charges of corruption as well as conspiracy in the deadly shooting of protesters who’d driven him from power. (An appeals court cleared Mubarak in the deaths of the protesters; he would be sentenced to three years in prison on the corruption charges.) President Barack Obama was honored with a state dinner in London as he continued his visit to Britain. Oprah Winfrey taped the final episode of her long-running talk show.
Five years ago: Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton and presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump each won primaries in Washington state. Protests outside a Donald Trump rally in Albuquerque, New Mexico, turned violent as demonstrators threw burning T-shirts, plastic bottles and other items at police officers, overturned trash cans and knocked down barricades.
One year ago: The White House broadened its travel ban against countries hard hit by the coronavirus, saying it would deny admission to foreigners who had recently been in Brazil. The New York Times devoted its Sunday front page to a long list of names of those who had died of the coronavirus in the United States. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu went on trial on corruption charges, becoming the country’s first sitting prime minister to be tried. (The trial resumed in April.)

Depends how you define "good." I had to work all weekend. On the other hand, it was 18 hours of overtime at time-and-a-half, and I didn't have to leave the house. Soooo...yes?

But the article didn't really explain what happened. It's possible the guy had a stroke or massive heart attack which led him to driving into the mangroves. Just sayin'.

Big Megamillions jackpot won in Levittown PA. Across the river from where I used to live. I did get 3 numbers = $10
-
Hello, Bret and ClemsonDave.
Morning, CoherenceCallT.
The one birch on the phone insisted I turn on my camera so that everyone could see I was in the car.
Incidentally, I picked up the rental and it's going to cost me a few extra $$ a day. They conveniently didn't have anything available that would be fully covered by insurance at $30/day. But I was on a call at the time and don't know exactly what the guy was telling me. I know I opted out of the additional insurance.

That's probably why the mangrove to the melon was "possibly fatal".

They can drive it if he listed them. The additional insurance would be the comp/collision, which he won't need since his policy would cover that.

@Tony, Have you checked out the Cannoli's yet?
https://atlanticcigar.com/amendola-signature-series/
Then again pretty pricy, and I wasn't particularly impressed with construction or taste on a couple other Amendola's I've tried.
-
Also at Atlantic,
San Lotano, 50% off boxes.
Southern Draw 15% off (most of which are AJF as well)
-
Gonna be a little toasty round these parts through Wednesday....I'm not quite ready for the 90's. Humidity creeping up as well.

Only one guitar. Coupla keyboards. Five or six guns I want. But a deal on some cool guitar gear - a preamp and amplifier - popped up on Craigslist last night that kind of caught my eye. Wasn't in the plan, but it's cool, and the price is right.
-
Evening started with a Centurion H-2K-CT.

Good solid cigar with an even smooth burn. Earthy base with decent pepper, chocolate, leather and some creaminess' at various point. Fairly uniform flavorwise and a little on the dry side. Good cigar but I expected a bit more for the price.
