Haha, no doubt.  I'm paying for his easy time the other day.  Circle of Life, Balance of Nature, or whatever.  Actually in a seat now. Fingers crossed we take off.

Even at this late hour I can still appreciate the well contoured yoga pants passing by.  Just glass half-fulling it.

Today is Friday, Aug. 4, the 216th day of 2017. There are 149 days left in the year.

Today's Highlight in History:

On August 4, 1892, businessman Andrew Borden and his wife, Abby, were axed to death in their home in Fall River, Massachusetts. Lizzie Borden, Andrew's daughter from a previous marriage, was accused of the killings, but acquitted at trial.

On this date:

In 1782, composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart married Constanze Weber at St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna.

In 1790, the U.S. Coast Guard had its beginnings as President George Washington signed a measure authorizing a group of revenue cutters to enforce tariff and trade laws and prevent smuggling.

In 1792, English romantic poet Percy Bysshe Shelley was born at Field Place near Horsham, England.

In 1830, plans for the city of Chicago were laid out.

In 1914, Britain declared war on Germany for invading Belgium; the United States proclaimed its neutrality in the mushrooming world conflict.

In 1936, Jesse Owens of the U.S. won the second of his four gold medals at the Berlin Olympics as he prevailed in the long jump over German Luz Long, who was the first to congratulate him.

In 1942, the Irving Berlin musical "Holiday Inn," starring Bing Crosby, Fred Astaire and Marjorie Reynolds, and featuring the song "White Christmas," premiered in New York.

In 1944, 15-year-old diarist Anne Frank was arrested with her sister, parents and four others by the Gestapo after hiding for two years inside a building in Amsterdam. (Anne and her sister, Margot, died at the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp.)

In 1964, the bodies of missing civil rights workers Michael Schwerner, Andrew Goodman and James Chaney were found buried in an earthen dam in Mississippi.

In 1977, President Jimmy Carter signed a measure establishing the Department of Energy.

In 1987, the Federal Communications Commission voted 4-0 to abolish the Fairness Doctrine, which required radio and television stations to present balanced coverage of controversial issues.

In 1991, the Greek luxury liner Oceanos sank in heavy seas off South Africa's southeast coast; the 402 passengers and 179 crew members all survived, largely through the efforts of ship's entertainers who oversaw rescue operations. (Capt. Yiannis Avranas and other officers faced criticism for leaving the ship while some passengers were still on board.)

Ten years ago: President George W. Bush toured the site of a collapsed highway bridge in Minneapolis, pledging to cut red tape that could delay rebuilding. Three students, Iofemi Hightower, Terrance Aeriel and Dashon Harvey, were shot to death execution-style in a Newark, New Jersey, schoolyard. (Six people have since been sentenced to long prison terms.) NASA launched the Phoenix Mars Lander, a robotic dirt and ice digger, toward the red planet (it arrived in May 2008). Barry Bonds tied Hank Aaron's 755 career home runs as his San Francisco Giants lost 3-2 to the San Diego Padres. Alex Rodriguez became at age 32 the youngest player in major league history to date to hit 500 home runs with a first-inning homer in a 16-8 Yankees victory over Kansas City.

Five years ago: Michael Phelps won the 18th Olympic gold medal of his career as the United States won the medley relay at the London Games. The United States set a world record to win the women's medley relay. Serena Williams beat Maria Sharapova 6-0, 6-1 to join Steffi Graf as the only women to complete the Golden Slam - winning the Olympics and the four majors. Three British athletes won gold medals in Olympic Stadium: Jessica Ennis in heptathlon; Greg Rutherford in men's long jump; and Mo Farah in the men's 10,000 meters.

One year ago: Speaking to reporters at the Pentagon, President Barack Obama vigorously denied that a $400 million cash payment to Iran was ransom to secure the release of four Americans jailed in Tehran. During a practice session on the eve of the Rio Olympics, South Korean gymnast Lee Eun-ju took a smiling selfie with North Korean gymnast Hong Un Jong in a warmly received scene captured by journalists.

Let me try for some better quotes today...

“There are three kinds of men. The ones that learn by readin’. The few who learn by observation.
The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves.”
― Will Rogers

“There are two theories to arguing with a woman. Neither works.”
― Will Rogers

“There are two theories to arguing with a woman. Neither works.”

More embarrassing are the leaked transcripts of supposed phone conversations, like where he is asking to President of Mexico to go along with his wall nonsense (at least in public).  Those leaks are truly above and beyond.  Somebody (s) on the inside are really trying to stick that knife into Trumpf.

If you say you received a phone call from the head of the Boy Scouts, but maybe it was actually just a few people in attendance who talked to you, I'm sorry, but that's not easy to confuse. That's just him doing his normal lying, knowing his supporters will lap it up, and hoping he doesn't get found out.

Their intent is "Follow-up"  but it can so easily be taken differently (and should be)
Have to keep from laughing every time.

Indeed, and those fish (or whatever the hell you said) are being fried. I was just pointing out that the guy can't seem to tell the truth about anything, at any time, even about little stupid shit. Even lifelong politicians tell the truth occasionally, if only by accident.

Be sure to tell them about my lasting emotional distress after being told "no cigars for you" yesterday.

Just called in to the first meeting of the day.

From the project plan being discussed, there is this:
"F-up Supplier Project Plan for validation activities execution at new Site"

Their intent is "Follow-up"  but it can so easily be taken differently (and should be)
Have to keep from laughing every time.
So does that mean Fish is gonna F-up with JR today? :)
Well, lets just say, as with Tony after doing all the yard cleanup....he's not going to get anything out of it.

Looking for that car this weekend?
That's my plan. I think the Mrs. had cleaning up the yard in mind. She wants to entertain there next weekend for daughter#1's birthday. My argument will be that she has all week to get it done, WHILE I'M AT EFFING WORK!
what, the excuse train will have to leave the station.  my sister called last night, heard her tell warden that mom isn't doing well, and she & my youngest daughter might want to stop by soon(I've been going every weekend).  I heard my wife tell her, that she has to go shopping, and Gabrielle has to get her driver license changed to one for a adult over 18 (she was 19 in February), and Gabrielle may be having a tea party with her friends on Sunday.  We are 30 minutes away, but my neice and nephew have been driving up every weekend for almost a month from 8 hours away.  Priorities, go figure.  sounds like we will take two cars there tomorrow, I can go early and stay late, they can come later and leave earlier.

Giving Trump (or Obama) much credit for the stock market is like giving them credit for the weather.  If you have to give credit however, the 8 years of Obama weren't too shabby, and as markets don't respond to policy immediately, much of this would still be Obama carryover.

Presidents can and do have huge influences on the markets.

Yeah, and health care premiums went down an average of $2,500/year for families too.

Molina Healthcare has announced it is exiting the Obamacare exchanges in Utah and Wisconsin and has experienced a $230 million loss in the second quarter of 2017.

In the remaining Obamacare exchanges, the health insurer is planning to increase premiums by 55 percent next year, which will account for the loss of cost-sharing reduction subsidies. If the program was funded, premiums would only increase by 30 percent.

Unfortunately most if not all of the price hikes and insurers exiting state programs is due to ongoing Republican meddling, rules changes and gross instability in the market caused exclusively by Trumpf and Republicans.  No matter how potentially positive your 401K plan is, how do you think it would trend if politicians continually undermined it and threatened to change rules or tax policy etc?  That would go down the tubes as well.

FSU receiver suspended indefinitely

Phillips is reportedly facing five felony fraud charges including four charges of "fraud cash deposit bank item with intent to defaud" and a charge of grand theft of more than $300.

The former 4-star recruit is one of only seven wide receivers on the entire Florida State roster and regarded as arguably having the best hands on the team.

Guess he does have the best hands...sticky too!

When colleges look at your net worth to figure out financial aid, etc. Do they look at retirement accounts too? How about pensions?
Retirement accounts are included, pensions are not unless you are drawing on it at the time.
Good that I asked. Because I have an opportunity to roll my pension into an IRA but it sounds life it may not be worth it.

I don't know if this article is correct or current but it states, "Retirement assets such as 401k, 403b, IRAs, SEP, SIMPLE, Keogh, profit sharing, pensions and Roth IRAs are not included in the calculation of EFC under any of the three EFC methodologies. Assets that aren’t in retirement accounts — balances in checking, savings, CDs, brokerage accounts, money market, investment real estate, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs, commodities and 529 college savings and prepaid plans—do get included in the EFC formulas."

Freudian slip. I meant "like" it may not be worth it.

Not that I know WTF I'm talking about, but does it make a difference on the source of the pension?  I.E. it's "solvency".  A lot of public pensions are in trouble.  Private not so much, unless you work for an Enron type.

And his short list would be treated as a liability.

Edit: My point is do with your pension the most prudent thing long-term financially and not what might be more beneficial from a FAFSA point of view.

Had a well aged EPC Cardinal Maduro tonight, won them for a song on the bid back in the day. Very nice, I find that EPCs in general age very well

Good For You, Mr. Fish.  For some reason I never became an EPC fan despite trying various sticks.  More for you, as they say.

I completely agree with that.
