Maybe the sawed off Turd will blow himself up!

Kim Jong Un is ‘preparing to detonate a nuclear bomb in a tunnel’ to mark ‘Day of the Sun’ celebrating birth of North Korea’s founding father Kim Il-Sung.

I believe this is called "Witness Tampering".

The free-for-all became free for all!

Every passenger aboard United Airlines’ Flight 3411 bound for Louisville, Kentucky, will get a refund following the mayhem of a doctor getting dragged off the plane.

A United Airlines spokesperson told The Post the passengers “are receiving compensation for the cost of their tickets.”

The freebie flight comes after Dr. David Dao, 69, was dragged off the plane at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport before horrified passengers.

66 degrees with a dew point of 66 and humidity is 100%, thus a damp foggy morning followed by a cloudy afternoon with the high in the low-mid 70's.

United CEO Oscar Munoz has stated that in light of the recent deplaning debacle, United Airlines will no longer use police to remove passengers from their airplanes.

In an interview with Good Morning America, Munoz stated that he felt “ashamed” over how passenger David Dao was forcibly removed from the flight, and as such as promised to review his company’s passenger removal policy.

United is about to hit more turbulence

The timing could hardly be worse.

United Continental Holdings UAL, -1.10%  , already reeling from the public relations disaster of flight 3341, now has to announce embattled CEO Oscar Munoz’s annual bonus. And according to company documents it’s likely to be around $13 million — his reward for aggressively raising the airline’s short-term profits.

Note:  United has lost almost $250 million in market value this week, guess he aggressively lowered those profits.

Oops.

Today is Thursday, April 13, the 103rd day of 2017. There are 262 days left in the year.

Today's Highlight in History:

On April 13, 1742, "Messiah," the oratorio by George Frideric Handel featuring the "Hallelujah" chorus, had its first public performance in Dublin, Ireland.

On this date:

In 1613, Pocahontas, daughter of Chief Powhatan, was captured by English Capt. Samuel Argall in the Virginia Colony. (During a yearlong captivity, Pocahontas converted to Christianity and ultimately opted to stay with the English.)

In 1743, the third president of the United States, Thomas Jefferson, was born in Shadwell in the Virginia Colony.

In 1861, at the start of the Civil War, Fort Sumter in South Carolina fell to Confederate forces.

In 1917, American business tycoon James "Diamond Jim" Brady, known for his jewelry collection as well as his hearty appetite, died in Atlantic City, New Jersey at age 60.

In 1943, President Franklin D. Roosevelt dedicated the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C. on the 200th anniversary of the third American president's birth.

In 1953, "Casino Royale," Ian Fleming's first book as well as the first James Bond novel, was published in London by Jonathan Cape Ltd.

In 1964, Sidney Poitier became the first black performer in a leading role to win an Academy Award for his performance in "Lilies of the Field."

In 1967, the movie "Casino Royale," a star-studded James Bond spoof very loosely based on the Ian Fleming novel, had its world premiere in London.

In 1970, Apollo 13, four-fifths of the way to the moon, was crippled when a tank containing liquid oxygen burst. (The astronauts managed to return safely.)

In 1986, Pope John Paul II visited the Great Synagogue of Rome in the first recorded papal visit of its kind to a Jewish house of worship.

In 1992, the Great Chicago Flood took place as the city's century-old tunnel system and adjacent basements filled with water from the Chicago River. "The Bridges of Madison County," a romance novel by Robert James Waller, was published by Warner Books.

In 1997, Tiger Woods, at age 21 years and 3˝ months, became the youngest player to win the Masters Tournament by a record 12 strokes at Augusta National Golf Club.

Ten years ago: A day after a dining hall suicide bombing claimed by al-Qaida, Iraq's parliament met in an extraordinary session on a Friday, the Muslim day of prayer, to declare it would not bow to terrorism; a bouquet of red roses and a white lily sat in the place of a lawmaker who was killed in the attack.

Five years ago: President Barack Obama arrived in Cartagena, Colombia, to attend the Summit of the Americas; however, the visit was overshadowed by a prostitution scandal involving a group of Secret Service agents and officers who had gone to Cartagena to prepare for the president's trip. North Korea's much-touted satellite launch ended in a nearly $1 billion failure. (The North succeeded in launching a satellite eight months later.) Jennifer Capriati was elected to the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

One year ago: President Barack Obama visited CIA headquarters, where he claimed progress in the U.S.-led fight against the Islamic State group. U.S. officials accused Russian attack planes of buzzing a U.S. Navy destroyer in the Baltic Sea multiple times during the previous two days. A task force issued a report which said that Chicago police had "no regard for the sanctity of life when it comes to people of color." A judge in Fort Worth, Texas ordered 19-year-old Ethan Couch, who had used an "affluenza" defense in a fatal drunken-driving wreck, to serve nearly two years in jail. The Golden State Warriors became the first 73-win team by beating the Memphis Grizzlies 125-104, breaking the 1996 72-win record of the Chicago Bulls. Kobe Bryant scored 60 points in his final game, wrapping up 20 years in the NBA in Los Angeles' 101-96 victory over Utah.

This takes the cake!  From PR Week Magazine (note this just happened a month ago)

Communicator of the Year 2017

March 17, 2017 by PRWeek staff

Only two months and change after having undergone a heart transplant, Oscar Munoz returned full time in March 2016 to his role as CEO of United Airlines.

Since then, he has continued the unlikely turnaround of United, a feat made more extraordinary given his health crisis just six weeks after he took on the airline’s top job.

An excellent leader who understands the value of PR, Munoz’s ability to connect and share with employees his vision for the airline, and get them to rally behind it, are  key reasons PRWeek’s editors have named him 2017 Communicator of the Year.

Yes and also a report regarding a power line easement both of which failed to support the asking price or anything close to it, most unfortunate as the property is in a near perfect location.

So, keep looking.  No big rush we will find the right place.

We are going there for a week leaving May 31.

Thinking about (2) La Careme samplers at Famous for $49.78 free shipping, tempted

Edit: Maybe I'm just desperate for anything resembling a deal?
Not as good as our AB deal from earlier, but definitely an enjoyable hell of a lot better smoke.
Fixed It

This one is pretty much better than free, on company time getting paid and they are serving pizza for a guy moving to GA.  All I have to do is shake his hand and say farewell and good luck which is easy because he is one of a very few in this office I actually like..

United story is one that just keeps on giving....

From the legal side...
Dr. Dao who is now Vietnamese, not Chinese has been released from the hospital.
According to his lawyer, he will need reconstructive surgery for a broken nose and two missing teeth.

For more lawyerese build-up....
Dao's daughter, Crystal Pepper, said at the press conference that her family's "lives have been interrupted" and that "it has been a very difficult time for our entire family - especially my dad - and we are truly grateful for your support."

Demetrio said that his client was a Vietnamese expat, who left his home country after the fall of Saigon in 1975. He claimed that Dao told him that his experience on the United flight was "more terrifying and harrowing than leaving Vietnam."

Now that's some happy horseshit!

Question is who will be paying more, United or Chicago PD?
Love the daughters name, Crystal Pepper.  Sounds like someone Flip might know.

Also, Dr. Dao was previously convicted of felony charges for illegally prescribing drugs (out of a Louisville motel room), lost his license (since reinstated)
There is also this:
According to the documents, the licensing board had learned that Dao had become sexually interested in a patient and hired the patient as his office manager. That man later said he quit his job because Dao "pursued him aggressively" and arranged to provide him with prescription drugs in exchange for sex.

Why couldn't it have been a decent person getting this eventual "lottery win"?

not really, there was a Rain, from South Carolina, and a Bianca, plus a Cleopatra,
but no Crystal Pepper.  There is a Crystal who occasionally takes the same train, and works
as a chef in this building, but she doesn't have a wacko dad....

Washington (CNN)The US military has dropped an enormous bomb in Afghanistan, according to four US military officials with direct knowledge of the mission.

A GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb, nicknamed MOAB, was dropped at 7 p.m. local time Thursday, the sources said.
The MOAB is also known as the "mother of all bombs." A MOAB is a 21,600-pound, GPS-guided munition that is America's most powerful non-nuclear bomb.

ISIS Tunnels and with that rock over there it would definitely take a mother load to destroy them

"As [ISIS'] losses have mounted, they are using IEDs, bunkers and tunnels to thicken their defense," Gen. John Nicholson, commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan, said in a statement. "This is the right munition to reduce these obstacles and maintain the momentum of our offensive against [ISIS]."
