Well, they did not call them March Madness Good Deals!  Even though a less desirable vitola that Mi Querida SakaKhan is a good deal for Churchill fans.

Yep. Got curious and looked up my Pepin sampler purchases, paid $40 for a 15 count "top 25 Pepin sampler" back in 2011. FS, of course.  Those were the days.

Unfortunately prices more than a year old are now totally irreverent in 2017 with the FDA effect.

I used to buy those MF Samplers on Jams and at the Sis for $28.50 FS but sure don't expect to ever see that again.

Sorry losing snowflake but with or without the FDA they will never go back down, rollers are having a hay day since in reality the FDA has not cost them a cent so far but it will later on and at that time prices will soar if the FDA rule is not checked.

Today is Friday, March 24, the 83rd day of 2017. There are 282 days left in the year.

Today's Highlight in History:

On March 24, 1765, Britain enacted the Quartering Act, requiring American colonists to provide temporary housing to British soldiers.

On this date:

In 1832, a mob in Hiram, Ohio, attacked, tarred and feathered Mormon leaders Joseph Smith Jr. and Sidney Rigdon.

In 1913, New York's Palace Theatre, the legendary home of vaudeville, opened on Broadway.

In 1934, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed a bill granting future independence to the Philippines.

In 1944, in occupied Rome, the Nazis executed more than 300 civilians in reprisal for an attack by Italian partisans the day before that had killed 32 German soldiers.

In 1958, rock-and-roll singer Elvis Presley was inducted into the Army in Memphis, Tennessee.

In 1965, Ranger 9, a lunar probe launched three days earlier by NASA, crashed into the moon (as planned) after sending back more than 5,800 video images.

In 1976, the president of Argentina, Isabel Peron, was deposed by her country's military. British war hero Field Marshal Viscount Montgomery, 88, died in Alton, Hampshire, England.

In 1989, the supertanker Exxon Valdez (vahl-DEEZ') ran aground on a reef in Alaska's Prince William Sound and began leaking an estimated 11 million gallons of crude oil.

In 1997, at the 69th Annual Academy Awards, "The English Patient" won best picture and director (Anthony Minghella); Frances McDormand won best actress for "Fargo" while Geoffrey Rush won best actor for "Shine."

In 1999, NATO launched airstrikes against Yugoslavia, marking the first time in its 50-year existence that it had ever attacked a sovereign country. Thirty-nine people were killed when fire erupted in the Mont Blanc tunnel in France and burned for two days.

In 2002, at the 74th Academy Awards, Halle Berry became the first black actress to win an Oscar for a leading role for her work in "Monster's Ball," while Denzel Washington became the second black actor, after Sidney Poitier, to win in the best actor category for "Training Day." ''A Beautiful Mind" won four Oscars, including best picture and best director for Ron Howard.

In 2015, Germanwings Flight 9525, an Airbus A320, crashed into the French Alps, killing all 150 people on board; investigators said the jetliner was deliberately downed by the 27-year-old co-pilot, Andreas Lubitz.

Ten years ago: The U.N. Security Council unanimously voted to impose new sanctions against Iran for its refusal to stop enriching uranium. Japan's Miki Ando won the women's title at the World Figure Skating Championship in Tokyo, leading a 1-2 finish for the host country with Mao Asada second.

Five years ago: Rick Santorum won the Louisiana Republican presidential primary, beating front-runner Mitt Romney in yet another conservative Southern state. Nine people, including a woman celebrating her 26th birthday and seven children at a family slumber party, died when fire tore through a two-story home in Charleston, West Virginia. Former Vice President Dick Cheney, with a long history of cardiovascular problems, underwent a heart transplant at a Virginia hospital.

One year ago: A U.N. war crimes court convicted former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic of genocide and nine other charges for orchestrating a campaign of terror that left 100,000 people dead during the 1992-95 war in Bosnia; Karadzic was sentenced to 40 years in prison. Republican Gov. Mike Pence signed a bill making Indiana the second state to ban abortions because of fetal genetic abnormalities such as Down syndrome. Comedian Garry Shandling died at age 66; writer Earl Hamner Jr., creator of "The Waltons," died at age 92

“Lives are snowflakes - unique in detail, forming patterns we have seen before, but as like one another as peas in a pod (and have you ever looked at peas in a pod? I mean, really looked at them? There's not a chance you'd mistake one for another, after a minute's close inspection.)”

“Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together.”
― Vesta M. Kelly

“When I got home, my roof was gone. Overnight the weight of the snow became too much to carry. What tipped the scale? Think about it: there must have been a final snowflake that did it, a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a milligram that made all the difference.”

The bigger issue is that half of the companies would go under, so they're having to build their retirement in two years.

They'll go down again when Trumpf fixes the FDA.
A lot of other f'kups to deal with ahead of that one, but he'll get there.
Let's hope he handles the FDA better than he's handling Obama handled health care.
Fixed it.
To do better than that would be downright superb!
Oh man, talk about your alternative facts.  #unsustainable
Are us common folk allowed to talk about #alternativefacts? I thought they were only alternative if the WH tells us they are.
Sure, we can talk about them, we just can't get away with using them....they're just #fakenews.
I knew there was something.

just a WalMart run to stock my cupboards and fridge, the setting up a sprinkler system at the lady's house, I'm tired of dragging hoses all around.

the WalMart I go to:

CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A woman ate sushi, cinnamon rolls and the majority of a rotisserie chicken, while drinking wine and driving a motorized shopping cart at Walmart, according to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office. She was arrested for shoplifting and other charges.

It happened at the Lecanto Walmart on Tuesday. Citrus deputies responded after the store loss prevention employee contacted them about an alleged shoplifter he had in custody. The employee told deputies that he had noticed the woman acting suspiciously driving the motorized shopping cart.

He could see a half-empty bottle of wine in her cart. He also said he watched her grab a box of sushi from the shelf, eat a piece and put the box back. She did the same with cinnamon rolls and mini muffins. He says he then saw her eat the majority of a rotisserie chicken while on the shopping floor.

The woman, Josseleen Elida Lopez, 20, consumed $32.36 worth of food and wine while at the store, deputies say.

When the deputies arrested her, they found two empty syringes, one in her purse and one in her backpack. She told detectives she had used the syringes to shoot up meth earlier.

When they asked her why she took the food she said she was hungry and didn’t want to bring it outside of the store. She told them she knew that what she was doing was wrong.

She was arrested on shoplifting and drug paraphernalia charges

Their selection is limited, but they do have a few things. I don't go top shelf when I'm drinking in a hot tub, cheap Walmart vodka will do nicely.
Walmart vodka??  You smoking Gurkha's tonight too?
Hey, they sell it at liquor stores, too. It's just the bottom shelf stuff, which is all Walmart carries.
Oh You mean majorska, or some such other rubbish.  why not just buy witch hazel or rubbing alcohol...
Probably because I don't buy vodka to impress you guys. :D
Oh! the pain, the inhumanity, Think of your liver man!  8)

Morning, Dean. What crazy adventures are you up to today?
just a WalMart run to stock my cupboards and fridge, the setting up a sprinkler system at the lady's house, I'm tired of dragging hoses all around.

The rest of me will be too warm from the hot tub for my liver to have any say in the matter.

Lunch time
What's for lunch?  And while you're at it, how's the weather?
Standard fare, carrots and peanut butter, with some applesauce on the side. And the temps are rising. Supposed to be rain most of the weekend, but in the 60s.
Sounds like you grabbed one of the kids lunches by mistake.  Healthy, I'll grant you that.

Yeah, been trying to cut down on the lbs a bit. Right now, Nate and I are gonna show up to CF with about 55 lbs less baggage than we did last year, but only 15 of that is mine. Trying to boost that number.

I parked by the legion, this morning, so might pack a cigar with me, for a stop
& smoke with the boys.  Could be a drink or two in the equation.  haven't had anything since 3/17.

I'd the Texas women can get past Stanford they'll gave ND. That'll be fun to watch.
