Whether you call it a historic crash and burn by Atlanta or an unbelievable comeback by New England, sure was an interesting Super Bowl.

I even thought Gaga was good. It's not my type of music but I have to respect her talent. If she's good enough for Tony Bennett, she's good enough for me.

68 degrees this morning up to 77 for the afternoon but cloudy all day.

Much better forecast for  tomorrow though, 87 and some sunshine.  Perfect day for a power washing attack requiring some sick leave.

Premature morning, muchachos.

Snowpocalypse here. When I went to bed there was 6" on the ground and another 4-8" expected overnight...TWSS, anyway.

Supposed to snow here all day.

Problem is, at 1:30am a branch broke on one of my big cedars and woke us all up. Now I'm laying awake here sweating the tons of snow above me.

Maybe I should go smoke a cigar.

The question would be, "Where?"

The house is tough enough to keep us from getting killed, it's the hassle of dealing with insurance, or my neighbors, afterward.

Today is Monday, Feb. 6, the 37th day of 2017. There are 328 days left in the year.

Today's Highlight in History:

On Feb. 6, 1952, Britain's King George VI, 56, died at Sandringham House in Norfolk, England; he was succeeded as monarch by his 25-year-old elder daughter, who became Queen Elizabeth II.

On this date:

In 1788, Massachusetts became the sixth state to ratify the U.S. Constitution.

In 1815, the state of New Jersey issued the first American railroad charter to John Stevens, who proposed a rail link between Trenton and New Brunswick. (The line, however, was never built.)

In 1899, a peace treaty between the United States and Spain was ratified by the U.S. Senate.

In 1911, Ronald Wilson Reagan, the 40th president of the United States, was born in Tampico, Illinois.

In 1922, Cardinal Archille Ratti was elected pope; he took the name Pius XI.

In 1933, the 20th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, the so-called "lame duck" amendment, was proclaimed in effect by Secretary of State Henry Stimson.

In 1943, a Los Angeles jury acquitted actor Errol Flynn of three counts of statutory rape.

In 1958, British European Airways Flight 609 crashed on takeoff from Munich, West Germany, killing 23 of the 44 people on board.

In 1973, Dixy Lee Ray was appointed by President Richard Nixon to be the first woman to head the Atomic Energy Commission.

In 1987, Wall Street Journal reporter Gerald Seib (syb) was released after being detained six days by Iran, accused of being a spy for Israel; Iran said the detention was a result of misunderstandings.

In 1992, 16 people were killed when a C-130 military transport plane crashed in Evansville, Indiana.

In 1995, the space shuttle Discovery flew to within 37 feet of the Russian space station Mir in the first rendezvous of its kind in two decades.

Five years ago: The U.S. closed its embassy in Syria and Britain recalled its ambassador to Damascus in a new Western push to get President Bashar Assad to leave power and halt the murderous grind in Syria. Jeremy Lin of the Knicks scored a career-high 28 points in his first career start as New York beat the Utah Jazz 99-88.

One year ago: Seven GOP Republican hopefuls faced off three days before the New Hampshire primary; Marco Rubio, a first-term senator on the rise in the presidential race, faced a barrage of attacks while Sen. Ted Cruz, fresh off his victory in the Iowa caucuses, also came under withering criticism. A magnitude-6.4 earthquake struck Tainan, Taiwan, killing 116 people. Police: Fight over cold taco leads woman to shoot boyfriend in N. Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) --
Police say a shooting in north Houston all began when a woman got a taco that just wasn't hot enough.

Investigators say a man and his girlfriend were at a taco truck on West Dyna near the North Freeway just before 2am when the shooting happened.

HPD says the woman became irate when a taco truck worker denied her request to reheat her taco when she said it was cold.

But when her boyfriend told her to calm down, she allegedly pulled out a gun.

Her boyfriend was shot at one point, but it is not clear if she intentionally shot him or if the gun fired accidentally.

Yeah, I bought two 5'rs from Joe Cigar at $37.50 each figuring we would not see a much better deal as that was about as cheap as they ever got the last round.  Had to implement cost averaging with the Famous deal.......   I can only guess they produced a hell of a lot more of them this time than last time.

Good morning boys, did anybody else see the Lady Gaga concert?  By the way the opening by the ladies from
Hamilton, was way cool.  GWB coin toss was good, nice to see him & Babs out of the hospital. Star spangled banner was good, some country boy, and the flyover by AIR force team.  what was really good, was the cheering of the crowd, when they cut over to our troops watching the game overseas.

will add another 2x4 to make an L post, place inside a 12"x2' sonotube, plumb, pour and leave be. they don't want to spend too much time and money on this. I could re-do the whole porch from scratch real easily, but then I'd have to deal with codes and permits.

Yup, saw it all...ladies from Hamilton changing the words to America the Beautiful, great to see the Bush's...but Babs, really Flip?  :o  Not quite sure why the do a flyover in a covered stadium....but....Good ol' country boy is Luke Bryan...and he actually sang the right words and didn't go all embellishment on the Anthem.  Gaga was entertaining enough, but what I thought was most amazing at halftime was the drones in formation, called the "Intel Shooting Star Drone system".
The game was pretty good too!

Danica Patrick needs $15 million to participate in 2017 NASCAR Cup season

Danica Patrick is in need of a little bit of money — $15.2 million to be exact.

Patrick, the No. 10 driver with Stewart-Haas Racing, has been bucked by her primary sponsor, Nature’s Bakery, and is in need of the money to compete in NASCAR’s 36-race Cup season in 2017.

Nature’s Bakery alleges Patrick is in a breach of her contract for promoting competing products, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Stewart-Haas Racing has since sued the Nevada-based company for breach of contract.

In a total of 154 career starts, Patrick has six top-10 finishes.

How did you like that Luminosa.  I was as pleasantly impressed  with Luminosa as I was disappointed with the Las Mareas.  Clearly a lighter cigar, but pleasant experience, good flavors and the right amount of sweetness.
It was good but I'm not searching for deals on it.  CH has fallen behind Warped for my money.
