Good morning cig-a-roos....!  It looks like it's time for another Alka-Seltzer.  And I make sure it was the right one this time.  I love Orange Sherbet, and haven't had it for a long time.  I was thinking about it all day yesterday, so when we went to bed last night my wife said, "you want some of that Orange Sherbet...?"  Well of course I did..!!!  So she got up and brought me a big bowl to eat in bed.  The only light in the bedroom was coming from the tv.  But when I looked at my Sherbet it looked black...  Black...???  What's wrong with my Orange Sherbet...????  I turned the light on, and she had covered it with chocolate syrup.  There was more chocolate syrup than ice cream...  Ugh...!!!  She said, "Oh, it's great that way..."  I ate it anyway, and it only tasted like eating a big bowl of chocolate syrup.  Anyway, now I'm having my Alka-Seltzer... UGH...!!!!   Damn, I may have to have two Alka-Seltzers ...!

News - President Trump Signs Bills Banning Pharmacy 'Gag Clause.'
"The Patient Right to Know Drug Prices Act, and the Know the Lowest Price Act."  Last January, a priscription I was taking had doubled in the new year.  It went from $150 to $300 for really no reason that I could think of..?  I started calling all of the pharmacies to see if I could find a cheaper price, but no pharmacy would tell me the price unless I actually have the prescription filled.  I finally pinned one pharmacist down to telling me of an alternative which was $140. It was the same drug, but mine was timed released, and this one was not.  I called my doctor and asked him, and he said it was ok, and wrote me a new prescription.

UFO's - I've been watching videos by a guy called BPEarthWatch.  He monitors Sun Spots, Hurricanes, and other weather phenomenons.  A radar telescope captured what appears to be 4 UFO's taking out, I think, a Russian satellite. Our Space Force or E.T.'s..?  12 min. video.  I never believed in E.T.'s, but the topic of other people visiting our planet sure has been coming up allot lately.  Don't you think if there were that many flying saucers, you could just buy a backyard telescope and see them...?  Anyway, if you like UFO's, this is an interesting video.

To LuvTooGolf.  Re/Good to have you back BD.  Thanks Dave ...!  I know I'm sort of sporadic at getting on here, but I'm trying... <smiley face>  I would have made a smiley face, but my bird some how ate my colon symbol.  Oh, I found the smiley faces (I was typing my post in note pad.)    :)

Today is Sunday, Oct. 14, the 287th day of 2018. There are 78 days left in the year.

Today’s Highlight in History:

On Oct. 14, 1960, the idea of a Peace Corps was suggested by Democratic presidential candidate John F. Kennedy to an audience of students at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
On this date:
In 1586, Mary, Queen of Scots, went on trial in England, accused of committing treason against Queen Elizabeth I. (Mary was beheaded in February 1587.)
In 1912, Theodore Roosevelt, campaigning for the presidency, was shot in the chest in Milwaukee. Despite the wound, he went ahead with a scheduled speech.
In 1926, “Winnie-the-Pooh” by A.A. Milne was first published by Methuen & Co. of London.
In 1933, Nazi Germany announced it was withdrawing from the League of Nations.
In 1939, a German U-boat torpedoed and sank the HMS Royal Oak, a British battleship anchored at Scapa Flow in Scotland’s Orkney Islands; 833 of the more than 1,200 men aboard were killed.
In 1947, U.S. Air Force Capt. Charles E. (“Chuck”) Yeager (YAY’-gur) became the first test pilot to break the sound barrier as he flew the experimental Bell XS-1 (later X-1) rocket plane over Muroc Dry Lake in California.

In 2001, as U.S. jets opened a second week of raids in Afghanistan, President George W. Bush sternly rejected a Taliban offer to discuss handing over Osama bin Laden to a third country.

Ten years ago: Big banks started falling in line behind a revised bailout plan that was fast becoming more of a buy-in; the Bush administration announced it would fork over as much as $250 billion in exchange for partial ownership. A grand jury in Orlando, Fla. returned charges of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter against Casey Anthony in the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee. (She was acquitted in July 2011.) Syria formally recognized Lebanon for the first time by establishing diplomatic relations with its neighbor. Canada’s Conservative Party won in national elections but fell short of a parliamentary majority.

Five years ago: Americans Eugene Fama and Lars Peter Hansen of the University of Chicago and Robert Shiller of Yale University were named recipients of the Nobel prize in economics. The Los Angeles Dodgers won their first game of the NL championship series, beating the St. Louis Cardinals 3-0 in Game 3.

One year ago: A truck bombing in Somalia’s capital killed more than 500 people in one of the world’s deadliest attacks in years; officials blamed the attack on the extremist group al-Shabab and said it was meant to target Mogadishu’s international airport, but the bomb detonated in a crowded street after soldiers opened fire. The board of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences revoked the membership of movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, after published reports about sexual harassment and rape allegations against Weinstein. The death toll from wildfires burning in northern California reached 40; they were the deadliest group of simultaneous blazes in the state’s history.

Q: Why did Tony go out with a prune?
A: Because he couldn’t find a date!

Q: Did you hear the joke about the roof?
A: Never mind, it’s over your head!

A woman gets on a bus with her baby. The bus driver says: "That's the ugliest baby that I've ever seen." The woman goes to the rear of the bus and sits down, fuming. She says to a man next to her, "That driver just insulted me!" The man says, "You go right up there and tell him off! Go ahead, I'll hold your monkey for you."

When NASA first started sending up astronauts, they quickly discovered that ballpoint pens would not work in zero gravity. To combat the problem, NASA scientists spent a decade and $12 billion to develop a pen that writes in zero gravity, upside down, underwater, on almost any surface including glass and at temperatures ranging from below freezing to 300 degrees Celsius. The Russians used a pencil.

They probably used the pencil so that they could more easily erase and rewrite history.
