Been fooling with Lowes to buy new carpet and what a disaster that has been.  "Free Installation" - yeah, $500 to haul off the old carpet, $85 for carpet tape, $275 to move the furniture around (and they don't move beds or TV's) and the pad is 50% higher than most places ...............

@ Bean - any cheapo carpet buying suggestions around here?

Haven't shopped for carpeting in a long time, so no idea.  I suspect you can do much better than the big box stores, though.
