A Villager with an intoxicated female passenger was arrested after erratically driving a golf cart at town square.
Daniel Kerr, 60, who lives in the Village of Piedmont, had been driving the black Yamaha golf cart at about 3 a.m. July 13 at Spanish Springs Town Square, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. During a traffic stop, a police officer confirmed that Kerr was wanted on a Lake County warrant charging him with violating his probation on a drug charge.
Kerr was taken into custody and booked at the Lake County Jail.
A 58-year-old Michigan woman who had been riding in the golf cart with Kerr was deemed to be too intoxicated to drive. The golf cart, which belongs to Kerr’s mother, was towed from the scene by Kling Towing.
Kerr had been placed on probation in April following his arrest in December with syringes and heroin in the Village of Pine Ridge. As part of his probation, he had been ordered to stay away from alcohol and illicit drugs. A warrant charging him with violating his parole had been issued June 27.
