Years ago when I had weekends off, I would be asked occasionally to work a 1/2 of a day on Sundays.  As a reward, they would consider it as working a whole day, and allow me to take a replacement day off during the week.  So it was like getting 2 1/2 days off.. :)

Don't work that way for me "just do it".  Does not occur more than 2 or 3 times a year at most though.  I am just driving an hour and a half to make a 30 minute presentation then driving back.

We're hoping to get something new in the near future (wishful thinking).  It would have to be highly reliable, high gas mileage, safe for grandchildren, and large enough for me to get into. And cheap enough to afford.

If you want a backdrop, ya gotta go and find them... :)
Fuggin antiques! Just traded in the wifes 03 Grand Am GT a few months ago, thing only had 90k on it but it was starting to act funny and was getting horrid MPG(17-21ish)...traded it in for a '14 Subaru Forester that gets 26-31mpg

Ah, from the other day?  Nice.  Normally there's news of something from IPCPR that has me setting money aside but it doesn't seem like there's been any exciting news out of it this year.  I like those L'Atelier small cigars and the cheap price they'll be released at, but that's about it.

Yeah....some expensive 'boutique' stuff that cigarfed will probably end up carrying but I'll get most of that in the cotm eventually.
I'm still hung up on getting some more La Antiguedads. BestCigarPrices has some in stock $133 minus 10% (SAVE714). Don't know about shipping. Tempted. But I'll probably wait for Atlantic.

Yup. Those were up on Tuesday, but I've been playing my favorite game this week... Cover for a co-worker vacation. I've been battling how much I need to do while leaving him a little of the mess he created. Got to leave him with the feeling of being missed. Although, I know the 'real' story! Sorry. I missed Tuesday, so I had a little unspent bitching bubbling over. Heh.

Reading that definition on urban dictionary is one of the best things a man can do.

Ex: "Any girl who takes loads of semen up her snatch, down the hatch, in her crack, and on her back. These chicks are down with the creampie be it anal or vaginal."

Morning, folks. Gonna hit the Napalms on the CI special... anyone have a shipping code?

Shfree-something, I forget.  Morning, Steve.

Yeah. Figure that's the format. Last one I used was 44... not today though.

Morning, Joe.
Sometimes it's freesh-something  ;D. Mornin' Steve. Hit those LB's....hit 'em hard. Haven't seen that price in quite a while.

Yessir! 2 deals. Down to four that I got from FreeFall. Price was the same, but shipping pushed it to $34. Thanks, Lori!
That skank!

Reading that definition on urban dictionary is one of the best things a man can do.

Ex: "Any girl who takes loads of semen up her snatch, down the hatch, in her crack, and on her back. These chicks are down with the creampie be it anal or vaginal."
I immediately regret my post  ;D
No you dont, lol  ;D

LBs?  Feel like I'm missing out on a deal... hate that feeling.
I know, huh? LB-La Bomba.....

Ah, yes, the La Antiguedads.  Been looking for them locally but they weren't in at the shop the last time I was there.
CAYP has them on their site "coming soon". Robustos accepted @ $100/box.

Nice!!  I check in with Tampa Humidor a couple times a week but they've only got the larger sizes in stock.  I'd like either the corona gorda or robusto, though.

I think Dusty Dave has this one handled.  I don't have the room for another full box so really haven't been pricing them at that quantity.  I was never more than 'lukewarm' on the FdlA so I'd like to try a could of these first.  Haven't heard a single negative review, though.

The more words, the higher the quality.  Sorry, up all night writing a research paper that needed to be about 50% longer than the material I had.  I'm back in the habit of needlessly expanding thoughts for the sake of word counts.

Looks more like a AB Tempus. Did you ever notice Tatuaje never has "overruns". Just sayin. Don't light that dry deck on fire with your ash, looks like a tumbleweed

They're a brilliant marketing gimmick.  Nothing wrong with selling extra tobaccos, no sense in letting them go to waste, but it's crazy the games they try to play with them.  Could be this, could be that.  Even crazier to me that people fall for it.

Well I'm finally home. Walk in the door and what do I see? I little brown box from CI. I had ordered some of the AJ overrun close outs. After Joes rant on overruns and 2nds I wasn't very hopefully. I think I got Ovals bitches!
joe what are your thoughts, could they be?

Believe whatever you want, tell yourself they're whatever you want them to be.

As for the pic you posted, the Ovals aren't nearly that sharply box pressed.  They're ovals.
You can SEE something in that pic?

If they are really flat they are probably cores. Maybe
look on the first post of the day.....that pic
Fucked if I know.....
can always count on the dusty one for great insights?
Or put another way....I didn't buy 'em so I really don't give a shit.

Indeed.
Looks like a fucking cigar that needs a fire on the end then you can decide if it needs a fire on both ends.  Like someone else said don't light the deck!

Well that's the thing, why the secrecy? They know what the thing is so just sell it as a second or whatever. The price is right if you enjoy them but if it was a true oval that they could sell as an oval, they would. What the fuck is an overrun anyway? Oops, I made too many cigars today! Since when is that a problem?

Yep, exactly.  If they made "too many", which is silly because it's not like they're planting tobacco crops with a certain amount of cigars in mind, it really isn't a problem.  They can always print out more bands.  The cost of extra bands is easily worth the added revenue from selling "real" Ovals.

I'm 100% convinced that these are simply cigars made of tobaccos that were not put to use for whatever reason.  Blend didn't quite work, 'extras' of various types, lesser tobaccos being used for practice, etc.  So yeah, you might get an Oval shaped cigar, but it's because a roller is practicing that technique with whatever tobaccos they have in front of them that day.  Just my opinion, of course.

If something sounds too good to be true, it is.  No reason that wouldn't apply with cigars, too.  Businesses don't set out to sell their perfectly good merchandise at extreme discounts "just because".

Can you imagine if breweries did this?  Overrun beer.  Tastes off, looks a little funny.  The bottle is cheaper, though.  Could be any style of beer, any ABV.  Would you buy it?  I wouldn't.  I would simply look for cheaper beers where I know what I'm getting if I was trying to save a buck.

Out here, Ballast Point is big on selling their experimental stuff.  They don't claim them all to be good, and some they'll even tell you straight up that it's funky.  But they made it, and here are the ingredients that went in to it, so if you're curious what a ginger, habanero, vanilla porter tastes like... well, here ya go.  It's a train wreck.  At least they're honest about it.

But they don't fill bottles and dump it off as Ballast Point overrun beer.

Well, I only had a 1/3 of the cigar. If I had to guess it's an oval. Only issue was the draw was open and could be not as well packed. It could be the weight was off by a few grams on the cigars and so they were sold as overruns. Chocolate bombs like the ovals I recall. Whatever it is, it's very good.

If you can put a subject in a PowerPoint presentation, the subject isn't that important, or it's a simple enough concept that a presentation/webinar isn't required.

It's funny because there's no way the guy/company/whatever on the other end thinks the webinar is ACTUALLY valuable, either.  Wife has to go through that sort of shit all the time with her work, though it's mostly 'cover your ass' liability stuff from the county.  They 'train' them so they can't be sued.  Creating mindless webinars seems like a good gig if you can get it.

Has to do with the type of malted barley being used. In this case, it's a lighter, non-roasted variety like you would normally use in an ale. Stout typically uses a dark roasted variety to give it the darker color.

Picked up a couple Mother Earth SinTaxes for home, been a while since I've had some.  Almost grabbed another bottle of the wootstout... something about the 13.5% ABV and bourbon barrel aging makes me forget that I didn't like it all that much when I had it last weekend.
That sin tax is good shit

Stone just made this available for growler fills, sounds interesting:  http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/147/126666/

Basically a blonde/golden coffee stout.  I don't get how it works but I think I'll bring a growler to work tomorrow to get one filled.

Has to do with the type of malted barley being used. In this case, it's a lighter, non-roasted variety like you would normally use in an ale. Stout typically uses a dark roasted variety to give it the darker color.

Had to figure out if you were talking about shit blowing up or drinking.  Right now both sound pretty good.

Alright men, I'm heading out. NR bundles are back in stock at Famous as well as Pudgy Monsters.

Later, Scott.  Thinking about lighting a NR tonight.  That or a Jamie Garcia.  Never tried the latter.
I was going home and get in the pool with a cigar and a Rounder but by the time this fuk'n webinar is over I might just set myself on fire.

Just sat thru an hour af safety meeting on spill response. Not a damn thing was said about what to do when shit blows up....
And yes webinars suck.

What!?! No bomb girl amendment?

Funny that you choose that pic. A lot breweries have it coming out just like that. Everything else is added after the fact. All those flavored malt liquors start with a clear base. And 'malt liquor'... no different than brewing what we think of as regular beer. Just a term conceived by the man for beer with higher alcohol content.

Kinda sorta along those lines, I had some Charbay R5 whiskey the other day, distilled from 'bottle ready' Racer 5 IPA from Bear Republic.  Incredibly interesting flavor profile.  You could really taste the hops...

evening sir. A few BOTL over at CI banter, been slow over here.

--------------
Company Policy
-------------------------

Dress Code:

1) You are advised to come to work dressed according to your salary.

2) If we see you wearing Prada shoes and carrying a Gucci bag, we will
assume you are doing well financially and therefore do not need a
raise.

3) If you dress poorly, you need to learn to manage your money better,
so that you may buy nicer clothes, and therefore you do not need a
raise.

4) If you dress just right, you are right where you need to be and
therefore you do not need a raise.

Sick Days:

We will no longer accept a doctor's statement as proof of sickness. If
you are able to go to the doctor, you are able to come to work.

Personal Days:
Each employee will receive 104 personal days a year. They are called
Saturdays & Sundays.

Bereavement Leave:

This is no excuse for missing work. There is nothing you can do for
dead friends, relatives or co-workers. Every effort should be made to have
non-employees attend the funeral arrangements in your place. In rare
cases where employee involvement is necessary, the funeral should be
scheduled in the late afternoon. We will be glad to allow you to work
through your lunch hour and subsequently leave one hour early.

Bathroom Breaks:

Entirely too much time is being spent in the toilet. There is now a
strict three-minute time limit in the stalls. At the end of three minutes,
an alarm will sound, the toilet paper roll will retract, the stall
door will open, and a picture will be taken. After your second offense,
your picture will be posted on the company bulletin board under the
"Chronic Offenders" category. Anyone caught smiling in the picture will be
sectioned under the company's mental health policy.

Lunch Break: (Love this one)

* Skinny people get 30 minutes for lunch, as they need to eat more, so
that they can look healthy.

* Normal size people get 15 minutes for lunch to get a balanced meal to
maintain their average figure.

* Chubby people get 5 minutes for lunch, because that's all the time
needed to drink a Slim-Fast.

Thank you for your loyalty to our company. We are here to provide a
positive employment experience. Therefore, all questions, comments,
concerns, complaints, frustrations, irritations, aggravations, insinuations,
allegations, accusations, contemplations, consternation and input
should be directed elsewhere.
