I know that pain well. In my entire life, I've only had one person pronounce my last name correctly without having to be instructed. It was some Russian guy who worked at a car repair shop.

Indeed. My youngest daughter is named Kyleigh, but everyone at her school wants to call her Kayleigh, like there's an A in there that's not silent, just invisible.
