Names and gimics never lost on cigars for sure.

It sounds pretty good but is it all marketing?  I'm very skeptical of the gimmicks.

As I've mentioned previously, I don't need to make any cigar purchases but somehow I'm tempted by CI's daily offering. I used to buy the toro version quite a bit 15 years ago.

Rocky Patel Vintage '90 Mini Belicoso (5.0"x54) - 10 / $34.99
But how could there be any tobacco left to make that?
I'm sure it's not the same cigar but for $3.50 I was thinking about trying it.
Why not?

Not always, and probably not in this case.  I have not been wowed by the Protocols I've had so far, so not really tempted.
Looks to be a bit of a marketing copy from Caldwell Lost and Found which is the real cigar boondoggle IMHO.  Pick up leftover cigars, don't provide basic blend info, give them catchy names and sell them for top dollar...and not that I particularly like the ones he sells under his own name (except for the ones that AJ and Booth helped him out on).

But if you are so inclined, Atlantic offering them for 15% off.

Lack of anything else to post, how about the origin of the word "stogie"?

"The English word cigar is from the Spanish cigarro, which they took from cigarrales, a Cuban word meaning a place of leisure. Stogie is an abbreviation of Conestoga, and because the drivers of that wagon company (based in tobacco country) always had a roll-your-own cigar stuck in their mouths, observers called them stogies."

And a little Mark Twain for the day...”Eating and sleeping are the only activities that should be allowed to interrupt a man’s enjoyment of his cigar.”
