Last night's soccer game wound up being cancelled because the field was flooded. Today's game is on, even though there's a steady downpour and plans for it to continue for the next 2+ hours. (but no lighting today)
The good guys won 8-3. My son let up the last two goals. He was playing pretty shitty and I told him so.
At least they got the W.

Today is Sunday, Sept. 10, the 253rd day of 2023. There are 112 days left in the year.

On this date

In 2016, John Hinckley Jr., the man who tried to assassinate President Ronald Reagan in 1981, was released from a Washington mental hospital for good. (Hinckley would be freed from all court oversight in June 2022.)

That's kinda nuts. I didn't realize this.

The chicken for dinner sounds good. I think I'll take a whole one out of the freezer now and do something with it.

Edit: After it thaws, of course.
Does tend to make it easier.
But there is always the microwave.
Went with this toasted pasta dish with fresh cherry tomatoes and smoked mozzarella instead.

It was meh. The family seemed to enjoy it but I thought it needed a little salt. The pasta is actually cooked risotto style and you ladle chicken stock into the pot as you go along. I thought that would provide enough saltines but it didn't.

That's a shame. Our market chicken was delicious.

Fun fact: we got a Scorigami today, with Baltimore beating the Texans 25-9. It's the 1,076th unique final score in NFL history.

I'm gonna have to look this up because I don't know what any of it means.
