We have had a regular mid-level Dyson for 5 years and the absolute best Vacum ever created and we previously had 2 Electrolux's at 3 times the price and a Kirby which was the worst. With two inside dogs and 2000 sq ft of carpet it never gave a problem and picks up everything. A bit quieter too. If you place any credence with Consumer Reports the $200 Kenmore upright rated the same as the $400 Dyson. My kids are already better cooks than my wife, but that's not saying much. They have pretty sophisticated palates and will try just about anything. We often cook together on the weekends. My daughters helped me out a bunch on Thanksgiving.
