Don't be a turkey!  Join in this discussion and perhaps learn something about cigars along the way.  Be warned, post on this site and you will catch hell from members and trolls alike.  Therefore, don't proceed if you have thin skin.  If you can accept all that, light a cigar, pour a beverage of your choice and welcome aboard!

On a hot, dusty day a cowboy rode into a small frontier town. After
dismounting, he walked behind his horse, lifted it's tail and kissed it where
the sun don't shine.  An old man rocking by the general store witnessed the
whole thing.

"Whudd'ya do that fer?" he asked.

"Got chapped lips," the cowboy replied.

The old man asked, "Does that help?"

The cowboy said, "Nope, but it keeps me from lickin' 'em."

We are going to really see some crazy fights for the next several months for sure, it is going to be a contest to see who has the biggest Dick I am afraid. The president will pass something and the house and senate will just refuse to fund the item. I can see lots of big deals made behind closed doors and that is never really good for any of us.

Overall good, Republicans gained some ground and 2 measures I cared about-1)the clause we were going to add to 'protect life at all stages', which was a blanket Catholic abortion initiative that got shot down fairly hard(65% or so) that wasn't exclusive enough to not cover IVF, DNRs, etc and 2)the one with us giving 1.5Bil/yr outside of the state to 'consultants' to help us spend our extra oil revenue...shocked that one didn't pass! ;)

No shit right!  We already have a 'Legacy Tax' or something that takes 20% off the top of oil revenues, so giving another chunk of the surplus away to a 3-member, out of state committee, seems like the dumbest fucking idea ever.  ;D

Hey RunnerDave...how did the elections go?
Pretty much as expected here, no surprises. Local school levy to fix up the high school stadium was shot down pretty hard. Glad I send my kids out of the district. How's about you?
Welll we have a new $20 million High school stadium I will be happy to split my share of the cost with you.

good morning guys. did a bit of lawn maintenance this morning and just finished mopping the floor of my camper. OOO toro and coffee as I wait for the floor to dry, then it's meeting time and GOLF.

had a long talk with the landlady yesterday afternoon after my excursion to Lakeland to some  80 miles out in the middle of nowhere. landlady told me she is having my furnace fixed. well, suspect parts ordered that may remedy the problem, but she is shopping for a nicer and larger camper for me. time will tell. she looked really nice with a blouse have a plunging neckline that rested just at the edge of her nipples. I jokingly told her  it was difficult to look her in the eyes as we talked being dressed like that and she said she appreciated the honesty and attention. ha, if she only knew.

she told me not to put a completely new roof on the camper, that if I sealed all the leaks to leave the rest alone, submit the receipts and she'll take it off the rent. she also wanted to reduce my rent for the work I've done but I told her  that we had a rental agreement and the contract strictly states what I pay and I didn't mind puttering around. so, I have to now prepare my site for a different camper, and I need to figure how and where I'm putting it.

Would've been a pretty good deal for the city, at about $30 a year in taxes, but we have far too many old folks in the city that vote down everything that has to do with the schools, no matter what it is.

Just got my property tax bill last Saturday and the School Tax was $6,200 in round numbers so $ ain't the problem.  And for those that believe anything politicians say (and school boards/administrators are nothing more than overpaid politicians) that sports complex was onlly going to cost me $8/month but miraculously it is about $400 per year.   Our district only has 1 high school, 1 middle schools and 3 elementary schools and the administrator makes $285,000/year.  It never ends and throwing money at the problem will not fix it.

I can't really blame the old folks. they raised their kids, paid their taxes, and now that they are living on fixed incomes they are still expected to pay school taxes they have no need for. yet people living in codos or apartment complexes don't pay a thing. that landlord should be assessed a rate by unit and family, though that would increase rent and force more people into public assistance forcing the working man to pay more taxes. I agree that education suffers across the country but we can build nice sports facilities and cut out the 'arts' from the curriculum.  with the republicans in office now you will see more handouts, buyouts, good old buddy deals, but you won't see your taxes go down or basic services improved upon.

rant over.

I remember the days of going to the HS games when I was in Dallas, just unreal...bigger than most non-D1 colleges.
Unbelievable how much tax $ it costs me.  Even has a $580,000 jumbo tron tv.
I just don't get it - the education of our youth needs major attention right now, too many districts are struggling or unable to get adequate funding to support school work but we have enough to remodel sports complexes :)
That's about the 4/5th school tier for tax tier...not terrible, but still...DAMN.  I think my parents paid just over 7k this last year, mine is high 4s-low 5s
So you're close to my quarterly rate...
Takes a lot to feed your Govenor.

Can't remember how far back, but I recall CI having a box of the V torp @ $99 w/ FREE ship. That was a good deal. I think most folks hit the CyB's @ $60

Did anyone hit the box of Melanios in the Boo-tique? 10/55 seems like a marginally decent deal/
I think i would hit 2 of the deal up now instead If I were inclined to spend that much.  as it is, college payments are due.  Gonna have to be a real deal for me to get involved.

Can't remember how far back, but I recall CI having a box of the V torp @ $99 w/ FREE ship. That was a good deal. I think most folks hit the CyB's @ $60
I went to the CI Superstore last year on Black Friday and split a box of 24 V torp with Charlie - $45 each ($89.95).

I don't believe so, weather pending for Saturday morning.  Dad was traveling all week, depends what his temperature is like coming home.
Snow?
Half snowing/raining right now...should be decent this weekend, just cold...30s for highs
Just needed rain and 55 here.   Snow makes for some good partridge hunting

Listening to our President right now and he said gas prices are cheaper now than they were 6 years ago, since average price per gallon 6 years ago was $1.62, has anyone seen that price recently?

I'm not sure where that average is getting pulled from, but GA hasn't see those prices since pre-Katrina... 9 years ago?!?!

doesn't the winter (fuel) refining costs less to manufacture than the summer.

He is looking for anything that can boost his approval at this point... true or not.

Agreed, little bit of snow is awesome for hunting...I'm sure I'll either be hunting or doing some honey-do project :)

Just campaigning and lieing as always.    Summer fuel blends run about 5-8 cents a gallon extra.

Nope.  But our president has a tendency to subvert the truth occasionally.

Belated Happy Birthday old man.  I've tried PC's for all available cigars.  Have not found one that doesn't add a little something extra.  Thought it would be a no brainer for you.  I thought the San Andreas were being phased out....haven't seen the PC's in a while.  I got a 5 pack of each in PC a while back from Famous.  Fun to compare and contrast.

The 50ct box is a bit much is all. Probably gonna pull the trigger over at Nice Ash. $137 for 50ct box is nice.

Sorry I missed it, workaferenceisimo.
I don't know why...they get great ratings, but I can't say I've had an Aging Room that I've particularly liked.  Just don't have the flavor profile I lean to.  I keep trying them, I think the F55 was the last I had and they keep leaving me wondering what am I doing wrong...

I would do that for Namakubi or one of the MC, but don't know about a whole box of San Andres.

That is a good price... I enjoyed the PC's I've had, but I would probably go with the 305's as a box buy.

That was the root of my question. I know they were rated highly, and there has been some decent pricing on them, but I just don't know... The Sumatra can be a love it or hate it experience for me.

I like a lot of sumatra....sweet and spice, but these to me were a lot earthier, more like Davidoff.  They weren't bad mind you, good burn characteristics.  If you're curious, try one or a fiver.  I just can't rave over them.

Thanks, Dave. Our thoughts on the Room 101 line seem similar. I'll pass on the box. Just don't 'need' 50 of them. Agree with you in that if it were the Namakubis on sale, they'd already have been bought.

I made nothing.  My sons' school was having a fund raiser at a local tavern where 10% of the bill would be donated to the school.  So I did my part to help out.  Had a very nice IPA too but don't remember the name of it.  I'll look it up and get back to you.

no cigar tonight. bugs are all stirred up.-----dwg-----Evening Dean!  Last minute change of plans, we're going to Scranton PA for Thanksgiving.  Maybe we can work out a visit and Flossie's when Oy is here in January.  Or December, depending on what your plans are.
Thinking that is a must due with his current location.

We will hook up soon.  Wasn't planning on this trip, but Bianca really wants to go and spend the Holiday with family.  It's real fun for me.  I sit around and listen to them yak away in Spanish.
