They started yesterday and this is what it looks like after Day1. The kitchen extension will just be that little corner filled in to make the house a rectangle. Not sure why the original design left that little notch out but it's where my A//C condensers were until very recently.

Agreed. Seems ridiculous but it will impact the layout on the inside dramatically. Not to mention it will be great to finally have a back door. I might even start using the yard more.

Edit: For clarification what you're looking at in the bottom left corner is my driveway. While taking that photo, the detached garage (mancave) was behind me.
