NASCAR Cup: 2017 may be the end of the road for Danica Patrick

The 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season may be the last for Danica Patrick at Stewart-Haas Racing, and it may be her last in Cup Series racing altogether.

Patrick has a year remaining on her contract with Stewart-Haas Racing to drive the No. 10 Ford in the Cup Series, but multiple reports have had SHR trying to negotiate its way out of the final year, as sponsorship looks to be drying up for the once marketing darling.

Good night to plan on taking a cigar out, getting a cold beverage or two and looking toward the East/NorthEastern sky and enjoy the show.

The Perseid meteor shower, which begins Friday night and stretches into Saturday night, will have a higher-than-usual rate of about 150 meteors per hour. Unfortunately, some of the duller meteors will be canceled out by the brightness of the moon, which will be about three-quarters full. The shower happens annually when the Earth passes through remnants from the Comet Swift-Tuttle.
