Looks like FL State - Miami game is still on for Saturday

LSU - FL has been "postponed" after a total fiasco mostly on the part of FL trying to delay the game.  Game is likely to be cancelled and stricken from the records.  This will result in the loss of  $ Millions to both schools.

Georgia - SC has been postponed until Sunday afternoon

October 7 is … National Frappe Day

A hallmark of Greek coffee culture from the 1950s onwards, the humbly delicious frappe has earned a yearly celebration. The frappe is distinguished by being one of the few beverages improved by the use of instant coffee!

Supposed, the frappe was created by a tired Nestle sales representative at the Thessaloniki Trade Fair who was beset by caffeine cravings. It’s often said that creativity flourishes in the face of restraint, and so it was when this beleagured man took some instant coffee, cold water, and ice, and shook his way to an internationally enjoyed drink.

There’s a surprising amount of science behind the frappe’s froth. Spray-dried instant coffee, and its lower oil content are the key to creating long-lasting bubbles. Freeze-dried instant coffee won’t cut it. The next time you complain that you can’t get a good coffee anywhere in a country, you might just be right!

Over-hyped Matthew continues up the FL Atlantic Coastline with true wind speeds and tidal surges far less than being reported by weather forecasters.  Large numbers of people without electricity is the biggest issue.

Over-hype example:

Fox News anchor Shepard Smith is no stranger to extreme coverage of extreme weather. This time, however, he may have outdone even his coverage of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.

During the course of warning Florida residents about the dangers of staying in their homes, Smith bluntly warned Florida residents that if the storm changed path, they and everyone they know might die.

SMITH: Daytona Beach, all the way up to Jacksonville.. this moves twenty miles to the west, and you and everyone you know are dead. All of you. Because you can't survive it. It's not possible, unless you're very, very lucky. And your kids die, too.

Stepped outside?  Fuggin humid as schitt.  76 deg, 73 dewpoint, 92% RH.  Supposed to break for the weekend, though.

Just checked the data from a weather buoy 20 miles offshore of Cape Canaveral which would be in the eye of the storm and highest recorded wind speed has been 64 mph.

Watching the weather channel last night and no Jim Cantore getting rain-soaked and blown about on the beach as is is wont during these things.  They had some little guy out there instead, I guess to make it look worse, as he was less steady on his feet than big, bad Jim.

And Shepard Smith is the king of histrionics and hyperbole among his hyperventilating brethren.
