If you don’t eat bugs because you haven’t been able to find them in convenient snack packs and whole-roasted in savory seasonings, your wait is over. Crickets farmed by Austin-based Aspire Food Group are scheduled to go on sale at many H-E-B grocery stores beginning next week.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run accident that sent him over an overpass on Friday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, two motorcycles were traveling on SR-400, west of 50th Street.

Eric Jordan, 35, and another motorcycle collided and traveled to the outside shoulder of the road.

The first motorcycle came to a stop and the bike driven by Jordan collided with the shoulder barrier wall.

Jordan was ejected over the side of the overpass and fell approximately 100 feet onto 50th Street.

After stopping, the driver of the first motorcycle fled the scene and abandoned his passenger, identified as 30-year-old Amy Jones, at the scene.

Jordan was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.

The suspect is described as a man, possibly named "AJ," who was operating a black sport motorcycle.

Anyone with information regarding the hit-and-run crash is asked to contact FHP by calling 813-558-1800 or *347.

Today is Saturday, Feb. 16, the 47th day of 2019. There are 318 days left in the year.

TODAY'S HIGHLIGHT IN HISTORY:

On Feb. 16, 1959, Fidel Castro became premier of Cuba a month and a-half after the overthrow of Fulgencio Batista.

ON THIS DATE:
In 1804, Lt. Stephen Decatur led a successful raid into Tripoli Harbor to burn the U.S. Navy frigate Philadelphia, which had fallen into the hands of pirates during the First Barbary War.
In 1862, the Civil War Battle of Fort Donelson in Tennessee ended as some 12,000 Confederate soldiers surrendered; Union Gen. Ulysses S. Grant's victory earned him the moniker "Unconditional Surrender Grant."
In 1868, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks was organized in New York City.
In 1945, American troops landed on the island of Corregidor in the Philippines during World War II.
In 1948, N-B-C T-V began airing its first nightly newscast, "The Camel Newsreel Theatre," which consisted of Fox Movietone newsreels.
In 1961, the United States launched the Explorer 9 satellite.
In 1968, the nation's first 911 emergency telephone system was inaugurated in Haleyville, Alabama, as the speaker of the Alabama House, Rankin Fite, placed a call from the mayor's office in City Hall to a red telephone at the police station (also located in City Hall) that was answered by U.S. Rep. Tom Bevill.
In 1988, seven people were shot to death during an office rampage in Sunnyvale, California, by a man obsessed with a co-worker who was wounded in the attack. (The gunman is on death row.)
In 1996, eleven people were killed in a fiery collision between an Amtrak passenger train and a Maryland commuter train in Silver Spring, Md.
In 1998, a China Airlines Airbus A300 trying to land in fog near Taipei, Taiwan, crashed, killing all 196 people on board, plus seven on the ground.
In 2001, The United States and Britain staged air strikes against radar stations and air defense command centers in Iraq. President George W. Bush met with Mexican President Vicente Fox on the first foreign trip of Bush's presidency. Dr. William H. Masters, who with his partner and later wife Virginia Johnson, pioneered research in the field of human sexuality, died in Tucson, Ariz., at age 85.
In 2003, more than 100,000 people demonstrated in the streets of San Francisco to protest a possible U.S. invasion of Iraq.

TEN YEARS AGO: Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton arrived in Tokyo to begin her first trip abroad as President Barack Obama's chief diplomat. The government of Pakistan agreed to implement Islamic law in the northwestern region of Malakand in an attempt to pacify a spreading Taliban insurgency. In Stamford, Conn., a 200-pound chimpanzee named Travis went berserk, severely mauling its owner's friend, Charla Nash; Travis was shot dead by police.

FIVE YEARS AGO: U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, during a visit to Indonesia, called climate change perhaps the "most fearsome" destructive weapon and mocked those who denied its existence or questioned its causes, comparing them to people who insist the earth is flat.

ONE YEAR AGO: In an indictment, special counsel Robert Mueller accused 13 Russians of an elaborate plot to disrupt the 2016 U.S. presidential election with a huge but hidden social media trolling campaign aimed in part at helping Donald Trump. The FBI said it had received a tip in January that the suspect in the Florida school shooting had a "desire to kill" and access to guns, but agents failed to investigate. President Donald Trump visited Florida, where he saw two survivors of the school shooting that left 17 people dead and thanked doctors and nurses who helped the wounded. Stocks closed out their strongest week in five years, and had recovered more than half of the losses from a plunge at the beginning of the month. Former presidential hopeful Mitt Romney officially launched his political comeback attempt, announcing that he was running for the Utah Senate seat that had been held by Republican Orrin Hatch, who chose not to seek re-election. (Romney would be elected in November, handily defeating Democrat Jenny Wilson.)

Will have to go beyond the 9th Circus but he has every bit of authority to do such.

You are confusing overreaching beyond no with that POS Obama, who don’t forget used it to deliver +/-$4 billion in U.S. Currency among other things to Iran.  Probably the most illegal act ever committed by a president.

Truck races are the best NASCAR has to offer anymore and Cup is the worst.  The Duels Thursday night were an absolute farce.  I even try to catch the ARCA races these days.

I have different hate groups than you, 1st group is anyone and everyone associated with Tony Stewart and second group is Lagono & Keselowski then lastly Truex.

Tony Stewart is absolutely my most hated, total asshole his entire life and a murderer.

We are not too Old School, NASCAR trying to make it for the snowflakes (thus all the cars are equal and fair) was the beginning of the end.  Drivers Being able to make $ millions/year without ever even finishing in the top 10 is probably the single biggest pitfall.

the last sentence ruined NASCAR:

The first NASCAR "Strictly Stock" race ever was held at Charlotte Speedway, although this is not the same track as the Charlotte Motor Speedway that is a fixture on current NASCAR schedule. The race was held on June 19, 1949 and won by driver Jim Roper when Glenn Dunaway was disqualified after the discovery of his altered rear springs. Initially, the cars were known as the "Strictly Stock Division" and raced with virtually no modifications on the factory models. This division was renamed the "Grand National" division beginning in the 1950 season. Over a period of more than a decade, modifications for both safety and performance were allowed, and by the mid-1960s, the vehicles were purpose-built race cars with a stock-appearing body.

LOL, Those 50’s - mid-60’s days were great but I would say it was still good until Dale Earnhardt died (I never liked him) and NASCAR went politically correct with “safe cars”.  Immediately after that it went to politically correct drivers who could look & talk good on tv........rather than those that could drive the wheels off a car.

Cheating via NASCAR allowing chosen drivers to have out of spec cars is another huge problem.

Absolutely correct statement “all about money” but add the word Greed in there.

Having sat in the stands many many times I quickly learned that we were always amongst the very few that actually paid for a ticket.  Sponsors give away 10’s of thousands of tickets to customers and friends.

I belonged to the Speedway Club at Texas Motor Speedway and had season tickets for all race events for a lot of years.

Cheating via NASCAR allowing chosen drivers to have out of spec cars is another huge problem.
the 'good old boys' weren't very good but they raced. now it's all about money. thank God for tv, most fans couldn't afford to go to the teacks now days.

Absolutely correct statement “all about money” but add the word Greed in there.

Having sat in the stands many many times I quickly learned that we were always amongst the very few that actually paid for a ticket.  Sponsors give away 10’s of thousands of tickets to customers and friends.

I belonged to the Speedway Club at Texas Motor Speedway and had season tickets for all race events for a lot of years.
when I worked for NYSDOT we had tool contracts with Grainger. they royally fucked up a $100,000+ tool order I put in for our four shops in Syracuse. they literally delivered a triple order and after a week of phone calls I finally shut my shop down and loaded the excess orders on state trucks and went to Maloy Road where they were based out of and spent almost 16 hours returning items one by one off the inventory sheets. the district manager showed up at my office a week later and apologised. shortly after the regional manager of the whole east coast stopped in and offered hospitality and pit tickets to Talladega for a meet and great with Biffle. of course I wasn't allowed a gratuity greater than pencils, pens, or hats for my men.
DAMN state ethics.

I didn't actually ski. Just helping the kids. There was a time that I would partake. No longer interested... AT ALL!
