Nine skydivers and a pilot were killed when their Cessna Caravan 208 crashed in Washington's Cascade Range. In a race run in scorching heat that left one man dead because of a heart condition, Kenya's Patrick Ivuti won the Chicago Marathon by a fraction of a second; another 250 runners were taken to hospitals because of heat-related ailments.

Five years ago: Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez won re-election for the third time. (Chavez died in March 2013 at age 58 after a two-year battle with cancer; he was succeeded by Vice President Nicolas Maduro.)

One year ago: The U.S. accused Russia of hacking American political sites and email accounts in an effort to interfere with the upcoming presidential election and also directly accused Russia of war crimes in Syria; Moscow dismissed the allegations. Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos was named winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, receiving a big boost in his efforts to save an agreement seeking to end his country's half-century conflict.

Nothing game but a Crazy ass  101 point football game last night with Memphis trouncing U Conn 70-31.  UConn might should stick to basketball .

True, and college shouldn't play on Friday nights....we have to play next Friday.

Friday night games are needed because without them there is nothing on tv, even a bad game is better than the options.  I wish they had a tv game every night.  Clemson did not have to schedule that game it was their option so stop whining.

First off, Clemson didn't schedule it, ESPN and the league did.  Secondly, it's what we snowflakes do!

This is interesting as the deputy would have been to young to purchase a handgun in addition to having to have a person over the age of 21 with him to possess it.  Sounds like we need deputy gun control!
